All this debate about the time of commencement for the Grand Final has got me thinking about the effects it would have on post-match celebrations, commisserations, dinners etc.

Now, having not been alive for a Geelong Premiership, it got me thinking "How would I celebrate a Geelong Premiership?"

Well, how would you? From siren, until say, 6pm Sunday Night?

Scarf glued to my neck... Non stop boozing. Geelong would go off!

An interesting insight by Jim Maine. He reckons he always said that there would not be enough Bourbon and Coke for him in Australia before the Swans broke their drought.

However, he said the elation of a premiership was more than enough and he only had one beer, and he said that was enough.

Im sure there would be a big night outside the Geelong townhall as we have done when we were in other (grrrrrrrr) loosing grand finals but this time it would be kinda different

A few other avid Geelong supporters I am friends with, we planned a few days after the GF (because lets face it, I am not working for another 3 weeks after that :D ) to go to one of our houses, hire the big screen, light up a fire and have a few beers watching endless replays! :p

I am not thinking about it........threads like this and all the top 4 talk is showing that our heads are growing bigger by the week. Let's keep it cool and wait until we actually look like getting to a GF before we start booking the celebrations

Got nothing to do with my head growing larger. The issue just popped into my head when this Twilight GF came up.

As if we don't think about it. Or are we just robotic, autonomous things that just watch football on weekends because there is nothing else to do?

I'd go and get a Tattoo...

The GFC emblem and underneath "2007" and i'd leave plenty of space for further editions :p

Hypothetically.. (emphasis on hypothetically).. I think most the winning GF teams would go to Melbourne Park???? Not sure if that happens anymore, but anyways, would go there after watching the big screen at Punt Road or something. (Thered be better atmosphere there than at the actual G id rekon ;) ).

And then afterwards go down to Geelong of course!! And i dunno dance in the streets, kiss and hug random people??!?!? And wouldnt get drunk, at least not that much. I think I would like to remember that day/night, if it ever happens in my lifetime. ;)

I know what you'd do... deck ya scooter out in blue n white streamers and cruise down the Princes Freeway at 20km/h, down to Geelong. Am I right or am i right?

I was seven years old in 1963, and I remember my Dad putting me on his shoulders so I could see the great Polly when he came out on the balcony of the Town Hall.

I'm really opposed to a twilight grand final-I've always imagined driving to Geelong that night to join in the celebrations. But I wonder if the players will return to Geelong when we win it or wait to the Sunday. Certainly if it is a twilight game or a night game they won't, and I for one will feel that TV stations and the AFL have taken something special away.

I would not have a clue. I can not even imagine.
I would be the biggest knob when i got back on this forum though and would travel over to the Hawks, Demons and Saints forums till I got banned for life.
