Baseball is actually surprisingly fun. I have never played for a club at all but I've played for the school, was a lot better than I thought it would be.

That being said, Cricket is better. :p

Cricket is more fun if you are actively involved in something, eg batting, bowling, close in fielder, but it can get pretty boring on the outfield.

Baseball is good because the innings don't take long to go through, so you don't get as bored easily.

I'd still prefer to play cricket, but playing baseball is 1000x more interesting than watching it.

I have played Baseball at school and for me there is no comparison. Cricket is by far more fun for me. I do enjoy playing Baseball, but Cricket beats it hands-down.

both are good games to play. being a pitcher in baseball is good because youre always in the action, and can have a bat too (if there's no DH). cricket there can be long periods of inactivity (if batsmen you go out for a low score, all you do basically is field). all the same, cricket edges baseball out IMHO. probably a fairer comparison is baseball vs 20/20 cricket

Can't comment on playing baseball v cricket as I've never played baseball, but as a spectator baseball is hella weak.

Had the misfortune to get some free tickets to a 'Heat' game back in the 90s...

I use to go to a few Giants games back when baseball was around too VoR... how ****ing boring? an innings last 5 minutes sometimes then at the start of every single innings they do a freaking warmup????

anyway i did play baseball at school and it is ok, but i prefer playing cricket

Cricket is definitely more fun, but hitting a home run is pretty exhilarating.

As for watching the games... anything is fun when you are pissed.

Hitting a home run then hitting a few softball girls would be pretty awesome though... isn't that right CC?

Actually.. on that comment anything is fun when you're pissed... that reminds of the Simpsons episode when Homer gives up drinking and he goes to the baseball and says something like "i never realised how boring this game is"

I don't think there are many life experiences that can't be referenced back to a funny scene in a Simpsons episode.

Speaking of baseball...

The game is tied, it's the bottom of the ninth, the bases are loaded, there are two outs, and Strawberry is due to bat.

Even though Darryl has hit nine home runs, Burns sends him to the showers because Strawberry and the pitcher are both left-handed.

"It's called playing the percentages".

He sends Homer, a righty, to the plate instead. Burns reviews the signals with Homer. Burns' explanation goes on and on, and Homer's mind wanders.

"Oh, I don't understand a word he is saying. I wish I was home with a big bag of potato chips. Mmm... potato chips.''

For those of you fortunate enough to have participated in both organised Baseball and Cricket, which sport is more "fun" to play?

Hard to say for me, depends how good you are and what level you play at.

I've played baseball for 9 years, played for Vic in U12's, baseball is more intense and fast paced

having said that ive just transferred over to cricket and also again it depends how good you are, it's fun but not as fast paced and as active. It's too much of a downer when you go out, baseball you have more opportunity

Baseball and Cricket to me are equal but it depends what level you play at and how good you are

I have played both sports for a number of years (Although, I haven't played Baseball in quite some time), I prefer Cricket because as a batsman, when you're in good form, you can continue on batting, but if you're seeing the ball well when your batting in Baseball, the thrill is still the same, but the fact that you have to run as soon as you hit it, doesn't give you much chance to savour the moment when you do really nail one (except when you hit a home run, which I have only done twice the whole time I played the game)

Although I do enjoy the variety of playing the game of Baseball, (base stealing, hitting, catching, fielding, etc.), and the many tactics of the game, plus the fact that the skills of Baseball transfer easily to the game of Cricket, I prefer Cricket because of its more lesuirely qualities.

omg like baseball is heaps better because like i'm a ******ed american who needs a glove to catch and i don't have much skill so the only think i can do is take a big swing. you know crickets like so slow and boring, i mean like whats the point of hitting it along the ground when you can hit it in the air, that's like so much cooler.
