Roast Grigg

Its basically pretty clear that he was ok when the opposition didnt have a handle on the way we played him last year. They now use the role he plays for us to their advantage. So seeing that he aint got to many strings to his bow outside a couple, pretty much nearing his used by date IMO

I haven't read any of the thread responses, i'll just get right into it. This campaigner can **** right off. If he doesn't want to play for the jumper, that's cool, don't. If this weak gutted, pea hearted, soft **** gets a game versus north, then that's it, Dimma has to go.
What has made me write this gentle sentence about our friend Shaun? My buddy CoggaRules and I were lamenting another loss, so we decided to focus on players and game plan rather than the result. Enter Grigg. He is standing on a wing next to Heppell. The centre bounce clearance goes our way. Heppell charges into the contest and gets a contested handball away. Grigg actually slowed down when running to the contest. Shaun then proceeds to run in a straight line and sits by himself 45m out in the defensive Essendon area. Only problem is, the ball has gone down the other side, guess who gets another contested stat and sets up a goal by purely following the ball down? Heppell. Grigg should never wear another senior jumper again. If Dimma is talking about a winning brand of footy, well, here's a start. **** this campaigner off our list for good.

He needs to be playing Ruck

and there is another example of the brains trust having NFI. We recruited a ready made ruckman a couple of years ago and they have tried to make him into a wingman running type player. Play him to his strenghths FFS. We didnt need Hampson and sure enough, we could have kept Ivan wrapped up in cotton wool, while Griggs took all before him at the center bounces. Its baffling why they dont unleash Grigg on the comp.

I have a theory on Grigg, I believe it is written in his contract that he must play unless injured.
I remember when we bought him over from Carlton in an interview it was stated someone promised him 22 games which Carlton couldn't do.

I have a better theory.
It was actually a part of Deledios contract extension that Grigg must play all games unless injured

Seriously why are people going on about him tagging??

He was at the first bounce on Heppell and but only seemed to get him at stoppages in free play Conca seemed to line up on him the most.

Anyway Heppell still had 7 clearances and 21 touches. People only going on about him a good tagger because he has done two good jobs in the last 2 season on Libba and Ward. Both very good players (and Libba will be top 25) but not elite players at the time.

This is so true, and the surprising thing on the night the commentators kept referring to him tagging Heppel at the same time vision clearly showed Conca on him.
