Pretty sure Kerr had the same injury and it took him all of last year to get back.

Gives him some time to get his upper body and core stronger. Guess he won't be able to do much for his legs.

Him and Moore play such a similar role, its a shame we lost both of them to LTI.

Bloody annoying that is. Hope he's not prone like his brother.

Gives him a good chance to absolutely smash the weights this year and build the upper body and core he'll need.

Should have used Lacras doc.... or Chemist!!! hang on isn't Worsfold a Chemist?

If there's a positive you could actually take outta this, its that grimey went out after finding some really solid form. At least he'll know that he was able to compete at AFL level at 19yo and will take this into his rehab period.

While really disappointing in the short term, he should definitely be right for the start of next preseason and should hopefully have put on a few kgs, spent a bit of time in the coaches box and come back a better player.

Spew - he looks good with the ball even if he doe ostly just spoil
hope for a quick full recovery
the spoil was a ripper- I think we mihgt have even got a shot from the rebound??

still Astbury / Goo to have a proper look and THursty if he is recovered?
any others to play this role? Conors I guess, jeez he played some excellent footy nvery briefly, hope he is up to it

Lets hope he can come back next year after 6-7 months of solid weights and 5 or 6 killos on his frame

This kid is part of our future back 6, bookmark it

Feel for the young bloke. Breaks into the side, starts stringing some consistently good games together, then bang, thats it. Hoping he will come back bigger and better from this. Will definately learn a lot in the rehab group and good to see the players getting around him already..

at least we know we have a player, and lets hope its not a long term thing.

time for astbury to pull his finger out, i have high hopes for that kid, and a rance/astbury/grimes defensive trio could set us up long term.

Bloody annoying that is. Hope he's not prone like his brother.

I hope not, for both our clubs sakes. Still unsure if Jack is just extremely unlucky or if its bad genetics - but Jack did his hammy late last year too, so... who knows.

I was hoping that we might've taken a punt on Dylan instead of Joel Mac in that draft but it wasn't to be. Best of luck to the young bloke in his recovery. The Grimes name is associated only with good things.

Been announced that he is out for 3 months. Better off wrapping him in cotton wool for the rest of the year like we did with Griffiths last year and getting him right to go for pre season training.

Well that really sucks. Just when he was really starting to get in amongst it and show us what he can do! I really hope this doesnt effect his confidence in attacking the ball in the way that he did when he done the injury because that is the exact sort of player that we need.

damn, yeah prolly most of the season if not all of it without him now. he was playing great and its a shame to see someone so young suffer from that.

we have a pretty big hole down back now with no Grimes or Moore :(

Move Post down back and bring Miller back in until Griffiths is ready to take Miller's spot
That or Dave Gourdis as a direct swap

I agree with this, Post looked like he lacked confidence on Saturday night, the coaches need to show confidence in him now and put it him down back. He was recruited as a CHB, I think that's his best position. Here's his chance to stand up when we need him. He's got great hands and size and I really want this kid to come on.

I think this will be a bigger loss than you would think from a 19 year old 10 game player. Grimes has been performing a role higher than what his age and experience suggests. The guy racks up many many spoils and often comes across to help out his oponents. Defensively we are quite a bit more vulnarable now. It's a real shame. No real reason to rush him back this season though, if it's a 10 week + injury then you could pretty much call it quits on 2011 for him. Better to nurse him through this and have him ready for preseason 2012 than rush him back and as a result he has recurring problems or reinjures himself.

In the context of our season and the aspirations to sneak into the finals, this is a big blow. Grimes was a key part of our winning form.
