Mrs.H.and l got 4 pairs for $400. Had 'em nearly 12 months and seem pretty sturdy. First pair l ever got, OPSM Ray-Ban's = $750. They broke during covids. Wasn't paying that again.
Yeah - I had flash harry ray-bans and the lenses were held in by fishing line - kept falling out. Cost a fortune. Basically crap. I wear multi's now from spec savers.

We had a brochure from Oscar W. that seemed to list prices comparable to SS and the better half hates going to SS because they try to upsell and do audiology etc. that she doesn't want.

How long is it until we can start saying The Covids? You know, The Plague, The Depression, The Covids ...

As I get older and the eye sight wanes and the fingers get fatter I have trouble seeing where to click on the screen to close ads that pop up on various sites while browsing on my phone.
I have uBlock Origin for the pc and it works great and I've now discovered blokada dot org for my mobile and I get far less annoying ads while browsing on the thunderbox.
Highly reccommended.

Its that time of the month dudes. Is anyone else who might have been sitting on the fence thinking about donating blood prepared to give half an armful to a good cause?

I'm in my 20s and find it really hard to close some of these ads, and I don't have particularly big hands or fingers. They deliberately make the little X really hard to push so you click the ad by accident

Evil devices…
Only go to Specsavers for the 2 for $99 which, by the time you actually want lenses, holders to go on the glasses to keep them on your face, to actually have prescription lenses etc make them close to $400 for the pair

Any consolation, their Toasters are also $180 of crap

Paid for the name

Stick with Kambrook
Completely agree! I would advise anybody to avoid the brand. There is a fair bit of engineering that goes into the products, but there are design flaws that stand out like dog-nuts. The toaster flings toast up into the air when it pops up and the kettle lid is held on by two small plastic arms that are clearly not very strong. I'll try to fix the kettle but we've come full circle back to the Tefal that kicked this whole saga off.

And strangely, the Tefal doesn't seem to be as noisy as it was in the past.

I have managed to pick up some "reasonable" prices when they have special offers. I got a letter with 60% off for over 60s on multi-focal lenses and at the same time they had a deal for any two frames for a max of $199 instead of $299. When I asked if both offers could be stacked the woman rolled her eyes like I was some kind of moocher, but the bloke who is the boss of the shop jumped in and said no problem. That was OK by me of course as I wear multis all the time (I used to have problems driving when I was wearing reading glasses as everything beyond the windscreen wipers seemed to blur into a complete fog for some reason). But at least I could see what speed I was doing, even if I couldn't see the signs. I had to drive using the GPS mounted on top of the dashboard.

All 3 closest bunnings out of mig gas :-(
