Just tried posting the word ‘t r a n n ie’ in reference to a transistor radio and the BF politically correct auto correct changed it to ‘trans’ f ing hate that it’s akin to a thought policeman telling me what I really meant to say GAGF 👹

So finally we get the opportunity to do fibre to the House

Bit of investigating and the best Telstra can offer is 85mbps

Not 100 and flat out no way to 200 plus

A speed test on fibre to node a few minutes ago was 55

Now why would I bother having to organise to be home to let the installer inside and all the other things listed when I get to watch North Media send out TikToks of Ratts slapping the newbie in crystal clear vision with no lag?

So I won’t

Tough in the country. I tried and had to come crawling back.
It might be different in a thriving sunrasia metropolis.

I'm metro so it was a no brainer (although I did go back for a while although I can't see myself ever doing that again).

Wtf have we come to
Took the family to Melbourne for the week & the cutlery you get now days is crappy wood knives & forks & paper soup spoons
I’ve used this before but that was in the outback at Silverton where water is an issue which it certainly isn’t in Melbourne

Paper soup hey, hmmm

But yes, wtf have we come to. There could quite easily become a hybrid thread of Are we at grumpy old rock bottom yet? It's life Jim, but not as we know it.

Yep
Lasted 1/2 a bowl before becoming ‘droopy’ 😱
Had to drink from the bowl then

Oh for the days when Ansett and TAA / Australian used to have first class on domestic flights. Metal cutlery and linen napkins. I used to have a "souvenired" Ansett spoon but my wife would usually throw out those items that somehow got lifted from airlines as she has higher ethical standards than I do.

I especially liked that Ansett spoon for stirring coffee but sadly, it when to cutlery heaven with all of its brothers and sisters. The TAA ones were not as good though so I didn't care abut those.

You didn’t think of keeping the cutlery instead of the wife ????????

Entirely get it. I nicked a spoon from a caravan in Bairnsdale one family holiday when I was about 12. I still have it and quite importantly, my best little mate knows not to use it. It's travelled with me everywhere. All my time in the UK, kicking around Europe, and anywhere else. I even went back to the caravan park and told them I nicked a spoon from them, well, maybe 30 years after the event  I was living near Bairnsdale so it was just a matter of popping in.
