Wat is the go with plastic chrome on new vehicles?

So in the storm a stick hit the front of the new chariot on this plastic chrome.

Not noticeable but enough to have cracked the seal and it will deteriorate, and there is absolutely nothing I can see being done other than replacing it

So of course you start to notice these plastic chrome on grills (mostly Nissans of all varieties) and the same damage and varying degrees of deterioration are obvious across a range of years.

Plastic chrome looked great on my Dragster in the 70’s but in a modern vehicle they are a problem I can do without; yes I get the reasons for them, cheap, light, looks great but get rid of them in favour of piano black or something else

In 2024, if these young campaigners cant work out how to smuggle a hip flask of voddy, a couple of doobs or even have a test night on their chosen shit (controlled testing) then they ****ing deserve to be cooked.

Its simple Darwin Theory.
