with cross gone, guido needs to step up 10 fold, otherwise as suggested by the clearance sale thread the other day-gone for $59.95, he just hasn't developed as much as cross and it's scary to think it may become even more evident without cross there.

Exactly. People just love to hate someone though so don't expect some to notice. One of our best against Carlton and did very very well in the middle against the Lions.

Yep, I don't know why people are still going on about him, he's definitely stepped up and doesn't deserve to be singled out like this.

I'll admit I am not Guido's biggest fan but I thought he was good for us on Saturday night by winning his own ball when the heat was on early. As long as he can compete in a 50/50 contest and not go to ground I will be happy. As stated earlier, all of our midfielders need to step up to cover the losses of Cross and Griff.

guido and cross are completely different types. I believe the only person we have to cover the same role as crss is Faulkner. This is the 6-8 weeks that everybody has been praying for. Everitt to cover the same role as Griff. Guido plays a dfferent role to all others!

He only had a 'decent' game against Brisbane cause he didnt have any shots on goal. If he had i bet ya he wouldve hacked a few away. Im still waiting for a CHF Grant type player, i thought it was Gia a few years back but nah, another will come soon.... and no its not Higgins, its destiny for Higgins to be in the midfield.

Gia got votes from me because of his attack on the ball and the player, and his efforts to help out and close space. He has had to change the way he plays....to both run and be defensive. It's evolving. On Saturday he looked the goods to me. Give him time.

Gia has improved quite a bit of late, coach is happy with him - guess that is what matters ultimately. He seems to have copped quite a bit of stick on here lately but I suppose there has to be a target each week.

I've been critical of Gia this year, but thought he played quite well on Saturday night. His tackling and defensive work has been quite good, but his ball use and creativity had been lacking, but he used the ball well, hopefully he can continue to improve.
