Voting for the Catman Medal this season consists of a sim component and a posting component. The sim component ranks all players each game based on Dream Team score adjusted for positional and match up performance with the top five players being awarded votes on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis. Votes for posting have been awarded to all players that have contributed in a match thread with one vote for posting at least once in a match thread, two votes for posting at least five times and three votes for posting at least 15 times.

All sim and posting votes are tallied up and the player with the highest number of votes will be awarded the Catman Medal.

Our season kicked off at home against the Wonders and we couldn't have asked for a better start - five straight goals. We backed it up with another five goals in the second quarter to take a handy 21 point lead into half time. The Wonders chipped away at the deficit in the third quarter, kicking four goals to our two before coming home with a wet sail in the final term, kicking six goals and claiming a nine point victory.

Rodney Dangerfield was strong in the ruck, collecting 22 hitouts and 20 disposals while Dory_77 was strong on debut, recording 16 disposals at centre half back.

Our first away game for the season saw us travel to The BJO to take on Roys FFC who were also looking for their first win for season 32. We had several chances in the first term but couldn't convert, kicking 2.5 for the quarter. The Roys kicked four goals to our one to edge away but a nine-goal third quarter put the game beyond doubt as the Roys took a 51 point lead into the final change. A five-goal final term meant little as the Roys ran away 39 point winners. GWS Goose and StFly had huge games in the middle recording 29 disposals and 12 tackles and 25 disposals and 11 tackle respectively while also picking up seven tackles each.

The season began with a shameless Fred chase by yours truly but after hauls of 2, 1, 3, 1 and 2 it was clear I was not the man for the job. Enter Rodney Dangerfield. The man. The myth. The legend.

Fresh of back-to-back Ninty2Winty Golden Boots, Rodders slid seamlessly back into the full forward's role giving us the target we needed as we set about getting our season back on track. His 3.5 goals per game is exactly what you'd expect from a full forward and his tally of 48 for the season, while down on previous seasons, was good enough to win his third straight Ninty2Winty Golden Boot.

A trip to rfctigerarmy's Hippodrome awaited as we sought to get on the board for the first time in season 32. Unfortunately we conceded a goal a little over a minute into the game and it was all one-way traffic from there. The Furies kicked first first-quarter goals to our two and gradually stretched the lead to six goals at three-quarter time. We found our kicking boots in the final term, kicking four goals, but the Furies matched our effort and won by 36 points. StFly picked up 23 disposals and nine tackles.

Our third straight away game saw us travel to Ljp86's Lair to face the undefeated Dragons as our quest to record our first win continued. Once again, we got off to a slow start as we kicked one goal while the Dragons kicked four to take a handy 19-point lead into quarter time. The Dragons kicked away in the second term, adding seven goals for the quarter. We stemmed the flow in the second half however the Dragons continued to outscore us in each of the remaining quarters and ran away 57-point winners. Brick Loosener lead the way for us, collecting 27 disposals and six marks.

Dory_77 was a solid addition to the Gumbies' lineup this season, playing all 18 games and posting in every match thread this season. Dory came to us from the Big Footy Tour of Qooty match on the Melbourne board between seasons 31 and 32, our second addition from the Dees this year alongside Grimesy87. Dory struggled for accuracy in front of the big stick but had no trouble finding the qooty, averaging 14 disposals and 4 marks a game. Off the field, Dory averaged 9 posts per week.

Thanks for joining us this season, Dory. You were good value to have around. I hope you enjoyed yourself and look forward to seeing you back in action next season.

The good news - four goals is a decent way to start a game. The not so good news - giving up seven goals in the same period doesn't really help. The first quarter was the difference in this on as the Bears jumped out to a 14-point quarter time lead. From there, the Bears toyed with us, stretching the lead to 30+ points in each of the remaining quarters but never really kicking on. We closed the gap to two goals early in the fourth term but that is as close as we got as the Bears ultimately won by 21 points. Brick Loosener (28 disposals, 6 marks), beez (27 disposals, 8 marks, 5 tackles) and Riviat (27 disposals, 7 marks) led the way for us.

Our luck was due to change having endured five losses to start the season so kicking six goals in the first quarter was a fantastic way to start the game. Kicking one goal in the second quarter was as ideal however we managed to hold the lead until late in the quarter and went into the main break only ten points down. The Warriors edged away early in the third quarter but we kicked the final three goals of the quarter to be within two kicks of the leading entering the final break. The Warriors tried to edge away again but we finally wrestled the lead away midway through the term and with two and a half minutes to play we held an 11-point lead.

The Bombers came to town and at 3-3 and sitting eighth on the ladder represented our best chance of breaking the duck. The first quarter ebbed and flowed as both teams lead throughout the quarter. We peppered the scoreboard in the second quarter but inaccuracy meant taking only a three-point lead into the main break. Four goals in the third term saw us stretch our lead to 13 points at the final change and eyeing off our first win of the season.

Then the Bombers kicked eight goals.

Oh yeah! Who's ready for Spoonbowl! That's right, the House of Gumby played host to the two worst teams in Sweet as the 2-5 Phawks entered our arena. We started on a positive note, kicking the first three goals of the game in a low-scoring first quarter. A shootout ensued in the second quarter as both teams kicked five goals with us taking a 14-point advantage into half time. The Phoenix kicked on in the third, kicking five goals to out three to close the gap to four points at three-quarter time.

With a win finally under our belts it was off to the Golden Throne to play our neighbours, the Gold City Royals. And what a cracker of a match this was. The first quarter saw a whopping 14 goals kicked between both sides, ten goals in the second quarter and 14 again in the third quarter, with the Royals leading by nine points at the final change. The final term was a tight affair as we couldn't take the lead back and the Royals couldn't stretch the margin beyond seven points for much of the quarter. The breakthrough finally came through back-to-back goals to saintkildaman and wherearemykeys with five minutes to play and we managed to steal the match by seven points.

With two straight wins under our belts it was off to Underground Stadium to take on the Swamprats and I think the umpire bounced the ball before we arrived because we gave up six first-quarter goals to our one. The second and third quarters weren't much better as the Swampies piled on ten more goals to our three to lead by 71 points at three-quarter time. We finally found the goals in the final term as we kicked six goals to the Swamprats' one and the Swamprats ran out 44-point winners. beez (24 disposals, 7 marks, 5 tackles and 2 goals) and Brick Loosener (25 disposals and 8 marks) fought hard for us.

With a win finally under our belts it was off to the Golden Throne to play our neighbours, the Gold City Royals. And what a cracker of a match this was. The first quarter saw a whopping 14 goals kicked between both sides, ten goals in the second quarter and 14 again in the third quarter, with the Royals leading by nine points at the final change. The final term was a tight affair as we couldn't take the lead back and the Royals couldn't stretch the margin beyond seven points for much of the quarter. The breakthrough finally came through back-to-back goals to saintkildaman and wherearemykeys with five minutes to play and we managed to steal the match by seven points.

The top-of-the-table Demons came to town fresh off a win in the Foundation Cup over the Wonders as we sought our third win for the season to keep the hope of finals alive. And we came to play. Seven goals in the first quarter followed by six in the second quarter saw us take a healthy 46-point lead into the main break. The Demons matched us in the third quarter but we kicked away again in the fourth term to win by 57 points and record our third win in four games. Lingua Ignota was best on ground for us with 28 touches and seven marks.

We were on the road again, this time to the Coliseum to face the 6-5 Wonders. The first quarter was a tight tussle before a couple of goals by beez put us 14 points ahead at the first break. We kicked on in the second term, stretching the lead to 39 points before the Wonders kicked three goals to close the gap to 20 at half time. The third quarter ebbed and flowed as we pushed the margin back out to 37 points but the Wonders again closed the gap to 17 points at the final change. We peppered the goals in the final term but couldn't increase the margin, ultimately winning by 17 points. GWS Goose put the team on his back in this one collecting 25 disposals and 12 tackles.

Four wins in five games and this qooty stuff us starting to look easy again. Just a shame that we were still last. Roys FFC came to town to share a chudshake or two after what turned out to be a cracker of a game. A tight first half saw neither team get more than ten points in front until Barrels' goal in the 17th minute of the second quarter gave the Roys a 16-point advantage. Neither team could wrestle the game in their direction over the next quarter and a bit and the Roys took an 11-point lead into three-quarter time. The Roys kicked away to lead by 28 points with ten minutes to play and the game looked over. That was until we kicked the next four goals to close the gap to one point with a minute to play. Unfortunately, Mooch kicked the sealer with ten seconds remaining and the Roys won by seven points.

A trip to Stadium in the Sky beckoned as we took on the Las Vegas Bears, who were only one win above us on the ladder. We opened the game with some of our best qooty of the season, keeping the Bears scoreless in the first quarter and goalless for the entire first half and took a 49-point lead into half time. We kicked the first goal of the third term before the Bears found their kicking boots, kicking six of the last eight goals for the quarter. The Bears closed the margin to 23 points early in the fourth quarter before we kicked away again to win by 43 points and finally drag ourselves off the bottom of the ladder.

The StFly Medal is awarded to the best clubman for the season as voted by the players, who were asked to vote 3-2-1 for the players they felt deserved recognition for their contributions this season. Votes could be for an exceptional poster, someone who helped around the club, their favourite poster or any other criteria they felt deserved recognition.

GWS Goose has been a valuable member of the Gumbies since joining in season 29 but season 32 saw a breakout season of sorts for Goose, adding media to an already strong match thread presence which saw him finish fourth in the beez Trophy. Coming off a Mobbs win in season 31, GWS Goose almost backed it up, finishing third by three votes. Known for his stories about marathons and people he knows, cushions became the latest Goose gag around the team. Mrs Goose might have taken up the bedspace but GWS Goose is quickly filling his trophy cabinet, adding a second StFly Medal to one he won in season 31 as well as his S31 Mobbs Medal, S30 Catman Medal and S29 krisholio Rising Star Award.

The StFly Medal is awarded to the best clubman for the season as voted by the players, who were asked to vote 3-2-1 for the players they felt deserved recognition for their contributions this season. Votes could be for an exceptional poster, someone who helped around the club, their favourite poster or any other criteria they felt deserved recognition.

GWS Goose has been a valuable member of the Gumbies since joining in season 29 but season 32 saw a breakout season of sorts for Goose, adding media to an already strong match thread presence which saw him finish fourth in the beez Trophy. Coming off a Mobbs win in season 31, GWS Goose almost backed it up, finishing third by three votes. Known for his stories about marathons and people he knows, cushions became the latest Goose gag around the team. Mrs Goose might have taken up the bedspace but GWS Goose is quickly filling his trophy cabinet, adding a second StFly Medal to one he won in season 31 as well as his S31 Mobbs Medal, S30 Catman Medal and S29 krisholio Rising Star Award.
