Back page of todays herald sun shows young Mitch Thorpe from the Hawks gun in hand killing an innocent duck as part of their pre season tour to the NT.
The Herald Sun goes on to describe him as a talented sharpshooter! I nearly choked on my toast, Joffa gets slammed by this paper and crucified by many others for posing with guns but is happy to show a young player shooting at innocent animals and praising it!
FFS i have never seen such hypocracy in my life and in my opinion is an absolute discrace! Shame on you Herald Sun.

I'm serious too, I'm a vegetarian. But what do you expect from the Herald Sun? If you want news, buy The Age, if you want pictures of small, furry animals, dead and alive, as well as double standards, buy the Hun.

Well i know a guy at the Heald Sun who ive rang and hammered to no extent!
He has promised to pass on all of our greivences.

You need to realise that one of them has a licence to handle the gun they were holding while the other didn't. Don't say they are innocent ducks, its a sport and it is done every day, so long as it is done in season i have no problem When someone with the profile of joffa posts a photo on his own accord of him holding a gun with the issues and bad publicity the club has had in the past 2 years then thats what causes the issue. I have no problems with shooting animals, i do it. I have before and i will do it again

Its not about what he did its how he did it. He is a face of the club whether its is wanted or not and he needs to act responsibly. Its the same as Symonds needing to be an example to fans

Ahh i was waiting for the one wowser tring to justify this! Look mate i got no issue if you want to kill and mame animals do so its your concious! what i got issue with is the massive double standards here, license has nothing to do with it pal as Joffa never used the guns so that argument is futile, It is about the herald sun and anti gun lobby slamming him about being in possesion of guns like hes some homocidal maniac then glorifying a young player for shooting a duck.
By the way pal does it feel good shooting defenceless creatures? hope you enjoy it must make you feel real good i guess.

I hope you think about what you said next time you have a steak or a chop cause they're defenseless when they're killed. You can be charged with illegally handling firearms, you don't have to use them. He is an image of the club, was at a point on the payrole, not sure if he still is and in my opinion has long overstayed his welcome. He handled a weapon in a residential area. If you asked someone who mitch thorpe was they wouldn't be able to give you an answer as quickly as if you asked them about joffa. So Micheal Diamond should be condemed should he. No because he has been trained to handle them safely and doesn't advertise handling of weapons. Look who he posed like, Chopper Read is hardly a role model himself
