Drop the "Greater" gimmick i reckon. West Sydney Giants will do.

It's already decided anyway I suppose, I agree with West Sydney without the Greater.

I come from The Blue Mountains, and never really considered myself as beint from Western Sydney growing up, but I still like the idea of a team there.

For what it's worth some of my submissions to the name the team site were:

Inmates

Mullets

Chariots (AKA car on blocks in the front yard - commons site in WS) - Get on board!

Pioneers

Bunyips

Serpents

There's a new soccer team called Melbourne Heart... they may as well have gone for "Melbourne Fluffy Pink Teddy Bears".

Hopefully the Westies have come up with something better... we've got stacks of deadly snakes, spiders, drink drivers, homicidal axe wielding maniacs etc. in OZ, many of them live in the west.... hopefully they use something deadly.

A name I thought of a few years back when GWS was first mooted was West Sydney Wild, using the dingo as its mascot. A lot probably wouldn't like it because it sounds too American but with the dingo as its mascot, it would be a more indigenous mascot than the Wolves.
