with the dropping of richo for his now famous dummy spit i would suggest joel bowden to follow in richo,s footsteps and be dropped for the game next week.
what i witnessed tonight what exactly what i have been harping on about this so called "star performer".
if the 2 "lazy efforts"[very joel infact] were bad enuff but his weak effort in the last qtr where he could have at least made an effort to try an stop a goal for the lions was absolutley the last straw.
i have no hesitation in trading this bloke.

cheers!

Jeez he only had 30 possessions- if we drop him next week then everybody will know that we're going for the bonus draft pick.

I feel sorry for you guys. Your players looked like they had their heads hung low from the start.
It reminded me of us in 98. We were a shambles.Off field stuff upsetting the players bigtime.

What is the problem. Is it the players, some of the players being bigheaded, the coach, the fotty department.

With us, we had the then CEO, telling the coach who he could pick, and balling him out in front of fans and staff, when he dared to differ. It was appaling stuff.

I hope you guys get to the bottom of the problems, and reslove them.Stick with them though. You can only imagine what the players are going through, and feeling. Don't be too harsh on them.

and of those 30 how many were constructive from a player who has the skill to pinpoint a team mate?

cheers!

I was advised that some supporters threw their membership tickets at your boys last night when they came off, is this right?

It probably did happen but this is the media assasination at it's finest.
Some of our fans are well known for being fickle at times  But i will still go mud ,blood or flood.:)

yep 30 possessions but most of them were wrothless really.I like Joel Bowden alot but yeah if he keeps up playing like than I would probley agree that he would be a good player to trade.

as awful as that sounds it wouldn't surprise me if some supporters did .

nonono u got it wrong.. bowden no way. 30 odd posies give the guy a breack geez. Hes a good footballer and to drop him would be like dropping campbell. Bowden, as some of you may know is my favorite player and it would be a shame if that happend. Lay off Joel and give him and support him more at the matches.

while i respect your veiws and support towards joel. the sad fact remains he in a way is a sad reflection on where we are at as far as on the field performances go.
he has been on the scene long enough now to become a leader on the field.last nights effort proved that he has a long way to go attitude wise before being considered a top line performer.
and if we are fair dinkum to where the clubs future lies he should be one of a few who,s careers at richmond could become somewhat under scrutiny at the end of the year.

cheers!

Joel's not the player to trade. Admittedly he played a no-brainer last night, but his effort was just the manifestation of a total lack of confidence and self-belief in the entire team. He might not be the bloke to dig us out of our rut, but when we do inevitably emerge, Joel will be a crucial element in our success.

My problem with his game last night was in his decision-making. Running in behind young players who have the mark or a free kick, KNOWING they will hand it off to him, when he is running onto his freakin' right foot is just bloody stupid !!

Trying to be cute with the ball when we want assertive, straightforward football is just bloody stupid !!!

Kicking to a contest between David Rodan and Mal Michael is bloody stupid !!!!

But all of these errors can be remedied by a lift in confidence, and the right words in his ear.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater here folks.

Bowden

The problem with Bowden is, that he is not hard enough at the ball.
I've seen him not commit himself too many times.
He would be our softest player on the list.
All he needs is to get a bit more mongrel in him.
I hope he can add a bit of hardness to his game as he he knows how to get the ball.
CARN THE TIGES!!!!
