It could literally be as simple as hartletts manager going to him saying "here is an offer from shitmond" and hartlett going "lol heck off" then telling his mates at PAFC and it filters out. Hardly destabilizing.

I know it's naive to think clubs aren't reaching out to other clubs' contracted players, but I'd think there would be trouble if a club tried to induce a player to breach a contract. I'd also be surprised if ...... actually I followed this through to the end and I was going start so many sentences with "I'd be surprised ..." or similar your original post about it being a 'black-op' (my words) seemed more likely.
