In recent seasons a handful of players have played the weekend after having arthroscopic surgery. I'm not saying this will be the case with Hampson, but the relatively non-invasive nature of arthroscopic surgery makes it possible for players to have minimal down time afterwards.

I spoke with MH (Carlton Committee member) on Sunday, he mentioned that it was removal of floating bone & if the Richmond game was a Saturday Hampson would play, so is touch & go for round one, but locked in for round 2.
Not bad news considering.........

Good news for us. Hampson has been flying this pre-season, and we need him out on the ground. At worst, hopefully he'll only miss one game.

Hammer would be right to go if Round 1 was on the Saturday (not Thursday) give there would be that extra few days of rehab / recovery / training time.
Mark still said that he may play, but would definitely be right to go round 2.
Good news I'd say.
