Similar, to Mike Sheehans top 50, but in relation to dream team. these are, in my opinion, the current top 50 dream teamers, in whom we should all aim to get at some stage.
1 - Jiimy Bartel - After Last years peformance, he is an obvious choice. Averages well every year, and had the best season i have ever seen last year
2- Kane Cornes - The most consistent DT'er over a period of seasons. This guy can easily average 100+, season in, and season out.
3- Dane Swan- There is no doubting the skill of this guy. Over 2 seasons he has shown us that he can compete with the elite DT'ers like Kornes
4- Deam Cox- Arguably the best ruckman for DT, and the best ruckman in the comp. He is a must have, and should contiunue to averages 100.
5- Brad Johnson- Over the years, he has cemented himself as the most powerful forward in the game, at the moment, and is always a good DT choice.
6-Matthew Pavlich- Last season, he really stamped himself, as a star forward, and after seasons of averaging 90's, he is here to dominate, and go beyond the 100's
7- Chad Cornes- The best man to choose in the backs position, and generally a good captain choice. Can pull massive scores, and averages well.
8- Joel Corey- You would have thought he would have been a bit higher than 10. I am still convinced that he cannot back up last years form, although his early form suggests i am wrong. Needs another solid season before being highly thought of.
9- Nick Riewoldt- Has shown enough, for us to tell that when not injured, can be up there with the pavlich's and the Johnsons.
10-Paul Chapman- Same as riewoldt, can absolutely dominate, but seems to get injured quite a bit. Otherwise gun player
12-Joel Bowden- As far as defenders go, this guy is up there with Chad cornes, in one of the must have defenders. His scores may not be up there with the pavlich's or cornes's, but he will always be able to give you a consistent 90, which in DT, is golden.
13- S.Thompson- Really stepped up last year, and found alot of ball. Whether he can keep it up, i am not sure of.
14- Daniel Cross- Handball freak, but still manages a good average of around 100, every year. Last years effort, puts him a bit down the order though.
15- Heath Scotland - Has had good seasons, and been up there with the Bartel's and Kornes in times (especially in 06), but with carltons new midfield seems to be getting less.
14- Jonothan Brown- The best player in the competition, down so low. He gets injured, and ocasionly, as brisbanes main forward, may get taken out of some games.
15-Scott West- Over the years, he has proven himself to be a DT legend, and as age prevails, he gets better. To many handpasses though.
16-Luke Hodge- No doubt that he is one of the premier midfielders in the comp, but will cop the number 1 tag, every week.
17-Andrew Carazz- With a good season last year, he seems to be backing it up, and is a good option, but no longer a backman, which lowers his selections.
18- Tarkyn Lockyer- Same with Carazzo
19- Nigel Lappin- The DT man of steel, has been rated as one of the best ever, but seems to be getting less in the Brisbane midfield.
20- Gary Ablett- Made his name last year, and will have to do it again to be rated as a gun in DT terms.
21- Brent Harvey- This bloke is bloody consistent, season in, and season out can average high 90’s.
22- Sam Mitchell- always been a consistent player
23- Peter Burgoyne- Has been such a good player in the backs position, and always a safe selection
24- Heath Shaw- Has stepped up into the Gun range this year. Looks like a future star.
25- Lenny Hayes- At his best, he is up there with Bartel, but injuries have stopped him from doing so.
26- Scott Lucas- A CHF, who when consistent can match it with the names of Pavlich and brad Johnson.
27- Chris Judd- Usually wouldn’t be this low, but his injury still has questions over his DT output.
28- Darren Milburn- One of the most consistent Backmen I have ever seen. Nothing to flashy and eye opening, but is always a good option.
29- Matthew Richardson- Just an absolute freak, considering the amount of ball that comes inside 50. He does a great Job.
30- Luke Power- The Brisbane midfield has stopped him from getting as much as he used to. Was a gun DT’er and still is
31.Leigh Montangna- Proving that last year was no fluke. Montagna is quite under-rated.
32- Matt Priddis- To have a bloke in the Top 50 after 1 season, it shows how much I rate this kid. Can be a bartel no problem.
33- O’Keefe- Playing DT in the Sydney team, dosnt make you that popular, yet this guy is one of the more popular forwards
34- Matthew Lloyd- Typical full forward- patchy as. At his best, is what gets him into the top 50.
35- Steve Johnson- Now needs to prove that last year was no fluke, and dosnt look to be doing so.
36- Adam Cooney- This guy gets better, as time goes on, and when he is good, he is bloody good, but when he has an off day, it is way off.
37- Jeff White- The second Ruckman behind Dean Cox, and by a long stretch aswell, but still solid
38- Adam Mcphee- has proved that he is the goods in previous times, but needs a few more solid seasons to be fully rated.
39- Brendan Goddard- In the past, he has been a gun, and up there with Bowden and cornes, but injury seems to have slowed him down greatly, and he wont be back to his old form.
40- Brent Stanton- After a good season last year, he looks to be getting the number one tag each week, and cannot handle it very well. Needs to handle the tag well, before being rated.
41- Jordan Lewis- same as Stanton
42- Josh Drummond- Injury has cut short, to what was going to be a star rebounding career.
43- Jed Adcock- Last year, favoured him with most DT coaches, and this year, he may be willing to back up
44- Troy Simmonds- Definantly the 3rd ruckman, DT wise. Even the injury hasn’t stopped him from dominating the ruck stocks, even at Richmond.
45- Andrew Mcleod- More of a supercoach player, is mcleod. But still a fairly handy DT’er
46- Adam Goodes- Similar to Mcleod. His continuous slow starts have dented his high regard by DT coaches.
47- Barry Hall- Big bad barry, just gets a spot, because at his best, he is good, but like most full forwards, can be extremely un-predictable.
48- Sam Fisher- Looked the goods last year, but he may not get that same rebound role this year.
49- Lance Franklin- Similar to Hall. At his best, is unstoppable and a 110+ average player. But at his worst, he is a 60+ player.
50- Peter Bell- one of the most consistant DT’er’s over such a long career, but he seems to be on his downfall, and the old bell ringer at subi, dosnt have to do much these days.
Thus concludes happy_eagles top 50
