everyone calls to sack the bloke with no alternative. I'll back the coach unless there's a better alternative ill give you a ******* hint. THERE ISNT ONE!

He's playing the kids instead of Morris et al who would make us "competitive" for the short term yet leave us in even worse shape. We cant win a ******* final with them let alone a premiership so im happy to throw the kids in and prepare longer term
Are you happy with your kids performance?seems like coach problem big time

they're kids, im tempering my expectations on them especially with so many in the team at once. Until they find their feet at AFL level, they're going to have the tendency to drift in and out of games at times until they can put it all together

Im calling it now dimma to be sacked after round 10 when we lose to the bummers

Sooo many tigers running in their zone and looking at west coast players waiting for their team mate to do something. I think there was 4 tigers chasing shuey out of the middle at one stage that resulted in a wce goal. 4 of the pricks that couldnt lay a tackle....

There's only one kpi that counts and its winning f()cking games of footy

Na the KPI that counts is winning premierships, just ask Bulldogs and the Saints. Even the Pies are aware of that after the Colliwobbles

Awful game players are confused why change a defensive 6 yhat gor tge last 3 yesrs have been close to the best in the league, this wasn't our big issue he has no idea playing an injured hampson judt wrong

Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
agreed, he tore apart that defence and put bloody mcintosh and ellis in there? they are mids, if anything take the weakest link out which was chaplin and replace with astbury, no need to take out batchelor, and have mcintosh in the hunt role. we had to improve our rucks mids and small fwds, we havent improved mids or rucks

Pretty sure he said players won't play if they can't kick and won't be recruited if they can't kick.

I don't think I need to name the players who we play who not only can't kick, but struggle to handball to a teammate

Shane Edwards.... Trent Cotchin both missed those types of handballs... guys that are our better disposers of the footy, certainly by hand... our ability to crap ourselves under perceived pressure... is pretty amazing to be honest

I am looking for high draft picks to help boost the list
Isn't it going to look too obvious if we finish lower than the Druggos?
I don't think the season is over yet.
We are hard-hit by injury. Get a few players back before we go writing it off, I say.

The midnight crew the only ones keeping their heads :thumbsu:

OK, so we get a new coach.

How long does he have to win us a flag?
also lets give him the worst list since Fitzroy, barely enough resources to do his job properly, oh and lets rip all the top quality out of his first 2-3 drafts

Right, coach, here's your contract ... finals win in the first season, flag in three years. Sign here.

Was thinking about this before the game. Richmond has to at least get some wins BEFORE the injured guys return otherwise we'll be leaving it too late.

Agree that injuries have hampered the team but tonight they looked like a side full of inexperienced guys. The lot of them looked terribly lost after the opening goal.

I hope this is as low as it gets. Then again we've got Melbourne next week and that doesn't bode well. Yet, I give the Tiges until after the loss to Melbourne to turn it around. That's been roughly where it's been the last few seasons.

This team is totally capable of so much more. But like any group of athletes they are capable of so much less too. We all bloody are aren't we?

Made a GF last year. We can better that. Of course. Just not ruthless enough.

Well Dimma been there 7 years now and I think he did a great job getting us from basket case to finals again . But I think that's it it's stagnated unfortunatley , wish it has dnt but it has we've gone backwards .

Sometimes to get from a crap team to a premiership team you need an in-between coach, to drag you out of the poo, but doesn't quite have the wherewithal to get you to that premiership. Is Hardwick that transitional coach for us??

Yes, this must be bad for lots of supporters.
I'm lucky enough to have been a Tiger for our last five flags so I've had the sweet taste of success where others are starving for it.
But if the solution was simply to sack Dimma and then we're all shitting rainbows, I would be on that wagon.

Board should have just let the year play out not extended , stupid decision IMO .

I am not a huge Dimma fan as I think he has some serious match day issues. I also think, due to wanting to trust his group, that he can't take off his rose coloured glasses. He continues to support players that can't play.
Our biggest issue is our list. We are unable to make tough decisions or really analyse where the club is at.
We can't land a big fish.
Maric, despite me loving his attitude, was cooked 12 mths ago. We don't have enough on ballers. etc etc
We need an INDEPENDENT review of the club not one conducted by Benny & a few mates.
Let's get serious.
Most of these blokes couldn't run a real business if their lives depended on it. Accountability, governance, strategic planning etc.

Mate he's had 7 years.

Teams are passing us by just like they did in the Wallace era.

We've passed Freo though

He's had 6 years, 3 of which we've made finals.... more than anyone in my lifetime.... All in crappy draft years, with crap recruiters and some pretty dodgy recycled player choices (which he has to take some of the blame for)....

Playing the kids is the best thing we can do.... get a decent draft pick, trade in a gun and maybe see what we can get for a TV or someone. It can turn quickly but not by playing Morris, Hunt, Chaplin, A.Edwards, Hampson, Miller, Gordon, Thomas etc....

We have made finals, we have not been good enough. List needs to be stripped back a bit and built on.... get games into the younger guys with talent and then rise again... Do need to build depth. Our best team is almost top 4 but 2-3 out of it and we fall away very quickly...

IMO he will be replaced at the end of this season if he doesn't win a final.
Sooner if he doesn't look like winning one.
In which case, he will get his contract paid out as a thank-you from RFC for his valuable services and bid a fond farewell.

Nope.... he'd be playing all the recycled guys, underdone Maric, Yarran and Lids in an effort to be more competitive all to try and save his job...

Far better to give him the time he thinks he needs, develop the kids and not worry about immediate results while you spend time searching for alternatives in the background.... Blind freddy could see that's a better way to go... even if it costs us a million bucks somewhere. Absolutely the best decision for the development of the young players.... no other way any sensible person could see it. If he hadn't been signed, you wouldn't have seen Menadue, C.Ellis, Short or Rioli very much at all....

Also gives the time to do a proper review of the football dept, particularly recruiting and make the right decisions....

Make no mistake, if we are still playing this poorly by the end of the year once we have most of our guys in (Lids, Yarran, Maric, Grimes), he won't be coaching next season.... New coach will have a great pick, a mantra from the club to go and recruit and renewed optimism from the supporter base.... oh and the inevitable 5 year plan ;)
