Hi guys
Sorry to intrude, but I was curious to see where you guys were at in regards to Harry Taylor. As some of you may be aware, Harry Taylor is out of contract at years end and the discussions have been heating up in regards to him potentially returning to WA.
Apparently both West Coast and Fremantle are very keen on securing his services, and as such, hypothetical trades have been floated around over the last couple of week. A thread on our forum has also been gaining some legs in recent days, with some of our better known and well credentialed members stating concerns about HT's responses in interviews regarding this matter.
Now you might be wondering where you guys come into the equation since the reasons touted for which HT could potentially be leaving Geelong and moving back to WA have been due to family (his wife has no family in Geelong to help with their young children). Regular listeners of Triple M's 'Rush Hour' would be award of Mark Riccuito's spruiking of Harry Taylor as a potential trade target at years end, and he even ran this by Billy Brownless when Billy made his weekly appearence on the show some time last week.
Without wanting to start a slinging match between our supporters claiming that each other's views are way off in regards to the potential trade values of any number of players, I'm curious to see where you guys are at in regard to HT's worth. Personally I rate him as one of our best 3 players who is arguably our most important player structurally. I would be gutted to lose him, however if he were to leave at years end, there are certainly trades which could be orchestrated which would significantly soften the blow.
To get the ball rolling, I'll start the ball rolling by proposing a trade deal which I think is fair and equitable considering we are talking about a dual premiership, All-Australian CHB who can not only take a contested mark, but can go forward and kick goals just as well effectively as any of the big forwards going around. So having said that, I think that Harry Taylor plus our second round pick for Daniel Talia and Rory Sloane is a fair trade.
Depending on where we finish at years end, at worst our second round pick in an uncompromised draft would fall around the mid-thirties which is still fairly reasonable. Without trying to sound condescending, I don't think you guys need to reminding just how valuable draft picks are to you considering the predicament you've been left in after the Tippet saga. I wait with baited breath the responses and/or feedback.

) but even then the first round pick would want to be mighty high. Outside of that though, I'd rather the club passed on him, even though I really do rate him as a footballer.
