No way! Just because there are 12 clubs that aren't willing to sort their **** out and at least 2 others that are still waiting for it to hit the fan doesn't mean that this is the worst.

Its been the worst ever because it is one of the best drafts ever, clubs dont want to give up draft picks.

Spot on.

I'll say no, purely because of the frantic trading done in the last couple of hours, and the fact that we picked up Akermanis with the last pick in the second round.

Brisbane would want to pick up a bloody good player with that pick

I loved it ...
Carlton won a moral victory and had an 'epihany' with trademark Carlton confience of old, and Hawks look like gooses and publicly are humilated.
Spider is happy going to Sydney now and I find I respect the man a lot more since he left the Hawks nest (can't blame him with Jeffery and Pelican running the show there :) )

Once again we've seen why it shouldn't be a week.

It should be structured as:
In the week prior to the trading, ALL players undergo medical tests by AFL doctors (ie. not club doctors), so any injuries etc. are evaluated. Results are then available to clubs IF (and only if) they enter a discussion with the players current club about them.

Then the trade period would be three days.
The first day would be the Monday. Clubs would do the usual enquiries on this day.

The second day would be the Tuesday. This day the clubs would get to do the serious offerings. ALL offers must be on the table and submitted (conditionally) to the AFL by the end of this day.

The a couple of days break for players and clubs to consider their futures.

The last day is the Friday. All clubs and players can do on this day is state yes or no - no new offers on the table.

A straight forward sequence of test, bull****, talk, decide.

Correct

Clubs were well aware how good the draft was this year.

So only players that had either issues with there club or wanted out and had the option (being uncontracted) of going in the PSD were traded in the main.

For this reason the traded player was under valued, except for Tarrant and maybe Spider

Why didnt Carlton try and see what they could have scored for the first draft pick from Adelaide.

Um.. because we want Bryce Gibbs to join Marc Murphy in the midfield next year. Do you have any other obvious questions that you'd like me to answer? You realize that you're doing nothing to dispel the Collingwood Supporter stereotype. :)

An excellent trade week from Carlton's point of view at least. We stood up to and beat several Clubs who were trying to poach 2 of our talented young players. :)

And you still don't have a ruckman.

For Bulldogs, Saints and Collingwood supporters it has been great!

Freo and Richmond though...

The other 12 teams' supporters would've been bored shytless.

Even if Adelaide were prepared to give up two of its best players.

Supporting Carlton must make you feel sick as a parrot. Do you have to pluck your feathers out of your bum.

If Adelaide offered Pick 14, Ben Rutten and Graham Johncock I'm sure Carlton would've considered it, but unless you get ridiculous offers like that no team (except for Freo) would ever consider trading pick 1 in one of the best drafts of all time.

I reckon if the crows offered Rutten and Pick 14 the Blues would have taken it. There is no way that the Crows would give up (probably IMHO) one of the top 2 or 3 defenders in the comp for an untried kid in Gibbs.
