am listening on the radio down here in denmark, anybody see the footage,
how bad does it look?

Make of it what you will, but as Hase was coming off on the stretcher he gave the thumbs up.

May be more wishful thinking what he was signalling.

yeh, it looked bad, very similar to nathan thompson last year... you'd expect him to be sidelined for quite some time... good luck to him

Bit sad :( after all reports he was doing well in pre season, being able to train a lot more etc. Hopefully he isn't out for too long.

Sounds like a nasty one. Best case scenario is 4-6 weeks they mentioned on fox.
They won't be so bad if it is, as at least he can come back in relatively early in the H&A season.
I really hope it's not too bad for the Haze, he was looking trim, fit and focused.

Looked like a medial for mine. The Dr was pointing too and poking around the medial, in which should be a 4-6 week injury.

Lachie just reported on ABC at this stage the doctors don't believe it is a season ending injury but will get scans tomorrow.

Thanks Toast fellas, very nice of you.
He really is one of the best ever Freo players, and he deserves a bloody good year.
Rest Well Haze, hopefully we see you Round 3 against the Toast.

I've always liked Haselby, had him in my DT quite a few years, and I rate him very highly.

I agree with you, I think it looks like a medial. I could be wrong, but it's just the feeling I get looking at the footage. I sure hope that's all it is.

The way he never once tried to stand tells me he knows its bad :(

The thumbs up thing as leaving the ground was one of those things u do as a great team player, trying to convince teammates that its not too bad, dont worry bout me just keep ya minds on the job.

Then can give them the sad news after the game.

ACL's usually make a popping sound and he gave the thumbs up. If the doctor's were poking around then that is hopefully a good sign too.

It happened right in front of me.

He was in a great deal of pain initially, but it seemed to subside pretty quickly...not like the guys I've seen do ACL's.

...and I almost got in my first crowd fight at the footy with a fat sack of crap Eagles' supporter and his two decomposing whale sperm sons who abused Haselby while he was writhing on the ground and celebrated his injury.

I hope you choke on your next pie you fat shit

Most of the Egirl supporters around me were actually pretty appreciative of Hases efforts and clapped & cheered him off.......I think he is liked by more then just Freo supporters :thumbsu:

I think that most people who attend the footy week in, week out would be quite understanding if a player goes down with what looks to be a serious injury. But there seemed to be a lot of "newbies" there tonight.

The people in my block who were chanting Freo suck and Farmer sucks didn't look like your typical west coast fans. Also, a few minutes into the game 2 Freo supporters in my row on arrival asked the score and when I said Mundy just scored the opening goal of the game they looked at me as if to say Who the **** is Mundy and looked to the scoreboard to check who was winning. :o

well maybe if u didnt go all out and rest ur gd players for a token cup that no one cares about, he wouldnt be injured

dockers take the nab cup so serious every year and still lose it

So if Glass had done his ACL tonight it would have been Worsfold's fault for selecting him? Pretty sure Priddis went off injured too, it could easily be argued that he is as important to west coast in 2008 as Hasleby is to Freo. By your logic he shouldn't have been picked tonight (along with Glass, Hansen, Seaby, etc, etc).

Almost every player in the competition who is 100% fit will play atleast 2 of the 4 practice games, if they get injured it's just bad luck. But nice attempt at a troll rent-boy.

If the worst case scenario does eventuate then the decision to convince Belly to play on and recruit Mark Johnson will be masterstrokes.

As much as I don't want to lose Hase for any more than a couple of weeks of the season, I do feel reasonably happy that we can cover him, or at least better than in previous years. With Des moving into the middle as well, hopefully it won't be too big a problem, but really, I just hope we don't have to do it for too long. :(
