Wretched luck for Haselby:thumbsd:

It's all well and good to be philosophical and say that injuries are part and parcel of football, but in reality they just suck, pure and simple.

Hopefully his recovery goes well and he has a successful 2009 and beyond.

Bugger bugger bugger .....

Until we know how long he will be out the upside is it's still a month before round one and 7 months until September we might yet see him in purple again this year.

Bad luck guys, Hase is a quality player and I hate to see this type of injury happen to anyone. Here's hoping he keeps his chin up and see the man back in 2009.

Best of luck for the season.

Bad luck for Haselby, good luck to him with his recovery.

He won't be back this year, ACLs need a full year out, him coming back this season is just stupid - less than 6 months recovery time. Also you don't put a player in a team with finals on the line with no match practice - recipe for disaster. Bradshaw did his ACL in late March last year and Leigh won't let him play again until round 3-4, just to be on the safe side.

F**ketty f**k f**k f**ketty f**k!

I really feel for Hase. First time in years it looked like he had his body right and then this happens. He must be devastated.

Even if we happen to win the premiership this year there will still be a tinge of sadness that Hase missed out. Oh well, we'll just have to go back to back for him.

Tragic for Hase.

Time for Chris Smith. :thumbsu:

Terrible news for Hase and Freo.

Rip, you do make a good point there - if we can take anything even remotely resembling a positive from this, it's the opportunity it might give one of the young guys, whether it's a Chris Smith or a Garrick Ibbotson - it's time to step up boys.

Opportunity is a marvellous thing- Very curel for HAZE But life goes on

Opportunity for Foster, O'brien, Ibbo, Palmer, Hinckley to seize the moment!!

Now it's official he's gone for the year. I agree. :(

yeh it was, we ended up going and sitting down Subi end as we couldn't stand the eagles supporters.

We could have had a beer together, I was 3 or 4 rows infront of her. After you left a few young blokes sat down behind her and gave her shit, think they ended up pouring beer on each other.

God she was scarey looking!

This sucks big time. I know that clubs only seem to win premierships with one or more of their best players out, but our midfield was already a slight weakness. Some of those young guys are going to need to come on if we are going to be a chance this year.

What was it someone said about the curse of the Beacon Award?

Not great to see a champion footballer get injured like that.....
Terrible blow for you guys and it was such a small incident on the boundry line !!!!!!!!
good luck in his recovery and hope he gets to play finals for Freo this year.
This may represent an opportunity for one of your youngsters to step up and shine.....

Does he still post? Or has he gone in retirement since the Eagles "dynasty" ended.
He still posts on the main board and the WC board.

He posted so many threads on the main board before because he was banned from the WC board, now he is allowed back he spends lots of time posting there.

Horrible news for Docker supporters but also horrible news for anybody who appreciates great footballers...

All the best for his speedy recovery.

I've seen some of his stuff and he must have mellowed a bit because he doesn't seem anywhere near as bad and actually brings up some worthy discussions.

Terrible news and here's to a sucessful recovery.

I know you guys will be feeling crappy about it but it opens a spot for someone else.

Although that sounds like coaches spiel atm, but i have seen it happen time and time again, where a kid or a boderline player is given the chance and he grabs it.
While you would never wish it it on anyone, sometimes it ends up being a good thing, but of course it won't seem like it now.

Good luck for this week and the year.

Absolutely devastated, my favourite player out for the year half way through the first pre-season game after his best pre-season for years.

AAAAAAARRRRRKKKKKK. :(
