Hasleby Injury

Hernia. Been a problem for quite some time. Is being "managed", and he will continue to play.

Why? Are you really a concerned individual, or are you worried about you Dream Team????

Fair enough. I'll probably get pasted for this... but I reckon wioth our season looking all but finished, that the "powers that be" should rest him for a few weeks.

Just add him to an injury list that has included / does include:

Bell
McPharlin
MCarr
Walker
Haddrill
Schammer
Hayden
Headland
Schofield
Webster
Polak (injury + internal susp)
Dodd (injury + internal susp)
Cook (suspended early in season)

+ whole host of 2nd and 3rd tier / Fringe dwellers / youngsters (like Browne, Warren, Dunn, Siegert, Haines) meaning replacing the guys above has been very, very difficult...

I mean, how much harm can one more do... really???

:(

I reckoned he should be rested a while back. Then he put in his best game for the year against Geelong.

The only reason I reckon he hasn't been rested is that is a week to week thing and that maybe surgery is the only answer.

If the season gets to the "mathmatically impossible" stage in a few weeks, I reckon he will get it fixed then.

Yep, definitly a bit stiff. Just shows what injuries and disruptions can do to a side, Brisbane and Port are good examples, most sides would struggle with consistent injuries to senior players and an unsettled line up. Calls for Connoly's head perhaps unwaranted? Even competition, a mare for tipping (Hawks are a certainty to lose though!). Look what the Tiges were able to do in the first half of the season (June fever /Nathan Brown strikes again) with the return of a fully fit Mark Coughlan. Hopefully they can manage the injury so he can be reasonably effective this year.

It appears that surgery will be needed at some stage. Whether it's now or at the end of the year, I guess will depend on how the next few games pan out. Like Ripper said, I guess if it becomes mathematically impossible to make the 8, they'll probably reassess then.

haze hasnt been in good form. can you blame him?!

he shouldnt be in the side.... make way for another "fit" player!

Wasnt he supposedly injured last year as well?
Its either a all too easy excuse to use for his lack of form, or we are running him into the ground serverely shortening his career.
Frankly I dont know what is worse..

Good point, sabre,. They must be the only options.

Hase has a hernia. But he can still play. Garry Hocking mentioned it after the Kangaroos game and said he played a season with one. He had a decent career.

At the half way mark of last season Haze was on fire and one of the favourites for the brownlow. He was tagged heavily in the second half of the year and struggled to come to grips with the increase in attention. His form this year has certainly been disappointing and if we don't win 3 of our next 4 games he should be rested and rejuvenate for a strong 2006 season.

I'm surprised that he is playing with a hernia. I reckon the best thing to do is to drop him and let him get fit again. Those things are a bastard.

Even though dropping him would put us in a worse position, I'd prefer to have a more successful year in 2006 then have a player like Hase struggling year after year with a recurring problem.
