My youth pull - literally the best I've had in 5+ seasons:

Mark Dandy (92287867)
18 years, passable form, healthy
A sympathetic guy who is tranquil and honest.
Has disastrous experience and weak leadership abilities.

Speciality: Technical

Nationality: Oceania
Total Skill Index (TSI): 2 740
Wage: 1 600 AU$/week
Owner: Adelaide Town

Stamina: weak Goalkeeping: disastrous
Playmaking: solid Passing: solid
Winger: inadequate Defending: inadequate
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: passable

Being a wing trainer I'll certainly be keeping him, but if only the lickle barsteward was 17!

Did you see that youth pull last week? 17 year old Excellent playmaking and passing. Sold for AU$12.5mil

Youth team was good for me earlier and turned a profit. In the last 6 season I have only had 5 guys with a TSI over 900

Hattrick have clearly rigged the system in a bid to level everyone out and prevent the established teams from widening the gap on newer ones.

In the Oceania youth pulls thread all the best youth pulls are coming from V and VI, while my youth academy - excellent for countless for seasons - produces one non-fireable YP once or twice a season.

Let me guess. He hails from Divvy 6?

I'm in div VI and i sack my youth pulls most weeks, Last week i got an 18 year old inad pm with solid passing (which is only 1 week from excellent) and he sold for 180k, sold a passable 17 year old pm in week 1 last season for 950k, but apart from that ive only had the odd one sell for 40-50k. But yes the one with the double excellent is from div V or VI, the guy that bought him apparently isn't even going to train him, which is a waste for Oceania u20 team.

So he spent $12.5m on something that he could have got for around $2m? Why spend that much if you're not training him?!

Yeah, he'd have to be either training him or looking to daytrade for a quick profit at that price.

********ing BULL********!!!!!!!!!!!! i am playing against my only real challenger in div VI, although admittedly i am not the best manager at the game, but the talent in my squad should be enough to make me promote at seasons end. But unfortunately the HT gods have something against me. the team i am playing decided to do an attack in the middle, i am winning 1-0, 70th minute, my central defender of all players gets sent off and merely 2 minutes later its 1-1, now i am probably going to lose this game.

I guess the sending off got my players into gear, am up 3-1 after 80 minutes now :thumbsu:

i managed a 4-1 win after being 4-0 up at halftime

i am not making much income though, and seem to be losing a decent amount of money each week which is something i need to turn around before i fall into debt

how do you see HAM to find out how many weeks until your players improve?

Hattrick jipped me again - more points mindbogglingly frittered away

Was down 3-1 for the majority, lost my best defender to a 4 week injury - then managed to come back and level for 3-3.

Levelled or beat him across every rating.

You have to use the menu and dowload the data every week (both team details and matches). After that just double-click on a player and you can see the details. There is also a column with the info in it.

It can take a few months for HAM to become meaningful. It will only be after they have popped up a level that HAM can truely know when they are next due to improve.

Lost 4-2. Despite the fact im in Div V and this guy is in Div IV I was away (yes, yes I know why so don't go trying to explain it to me). Anyways he MOTS, like you would MOTS the cup. *sigh*

Only value of the cup to 99% of us is a chance to PIC. Keeps up your TS for the league matches which really matter. Only reason to MOTS is if you are in a league of BOTS and can't lose.

If my luck in the cup holds til about week 7 or 8 I'll have a real crack at it.

Given my shoddy season last term my ranking would be low enough to start getting home ties by week 6 or so - so with HGA and the squad I have at present (fourth most valuable in Oceania, apparently) I can beat anyone on my day.

ohh and if you finish near the bottom of Div 6 does that mean you dont get entered in the cup?

Yes. I joined at the start of the season and because my team name started with F I started in 4th or 5th place and was entered into the cup. A few of the teams below me weren't so lucky.

what does MOTS and PIC mean?

You need to spend more time reading the rules and the newbie conference. ;)

I won't try and explain it because I'm new and have yet to use them but they stand for Match of the Season and Play it Cool and by using them if effects your team spirit.

Changed my tactics slightly for todays game, deciding to attack down the guts and finished with a 4-1 win. I was up 2-0 at halftime with 70% possession, they pulled a goal back but then i slammed home two late ones. I have won every game except for one, when i was spanked 8-0 by the top team.

So how often do you PIC? Every week or is there a limit?

You can MOTS/Normal/PIC as often as you like, but obviously there are risks involved with each one.

Most managers will only MOTS on the final game of the season - obviously because you get maximum effort and your team spirit will reset before the beginning of the next season. But, there are times when you may have a super important game and could gamble on a MOTS, ie if you were playing your nearest rival for the league title and were coming up against a bunny the week after.

I tend to PIC if I'm at home and am quite confident I can still beat my opponent quite comfortably, if I'm in doubt (especially if I'm away to a decent side and have a couple of injuries/suspensions) I'll Normal.
