I tend to PIC if I'm at home and am quite confident I can still beat my opponent quite comfortably, if I'm in doubt (especially if I'm away to a decent side and have a couple of injuries/suspensions) I'll Normal.

Same with the addition of any match I know I can't win. If you are 5th in the league and playing first you might as well PIC. Bank up for team spirit for the winnable matches which might be enough to pick up the points to avoid relegation.

I suck at this. i havent even got a point this season in level 5. My mistake by the looks of it is not buying a passable coach at the start and buying players that i thought were good but realised they were ********.

Most of the recent new teams ended up in division 5 so I'm grateful to have been placed in division 6 and have the opportunity to build a team without getting belted every week.

The only problem with being in a league with so many new/crap teams is that the crowds are very small. When I started I had a cup game and matches against what were to become the two top teams in my league. I kind of budgeted for those kind of crowd figures and it's a long way from the 2000-3000 people that are attending my games at the moment. Now I'm getting only $30000-$40,000 of income and I'm struggling to get out of debt.

I'm still in debt and i get around 153,000 income from the attendence from a home game. im down 265,000 and will be down into the 300,000 by the next economy update.

Just be wary of the income from home games. It varies significantly depending on how many supporters and how successful your opponent is.

I've done a Cameron Rose and slashed wages across the board. At the moment I only pay $36,000 in staff wages and $34,000 in player wages. And I'm still losing money. This week I played a home game and only earned $30,000 because my opponent was last in my division. I've got another home this week and the simspectator program predicted a crowd of 4000 and income of $55,000. The expected profit for the week is only $15,000. I'm currently $390,000 in debt and the interest is costing me $20,000 a week. It's not easy. :(

And don't forget other things like your own league form and the all important weather.

Rain is an absolute killer if you're hoping for a decent gate.

How do you limit injuries? It seems that every game i am getting injuries. In my recent friendly i got my keeper injured for 2 weeks, last week a trainee was injured for 3 weeks as well as countless others.

I've heard tips of dropping the training intensity down to 98%. How many physios do you all have? I have got 5, maybe i should up that to 7 or 8? Got 3 doctors also.

10 physio's. If you train a high intensity, you need every one of them

I put a lovely little roof on my boutique 12,000 seat stadium but I'm sure that doesn't make a difference. :(

SimSpectator predicts 4600 spectators and $62,000 income to be generated from my next home match. Hopefully Melbourne's fickle weather doesn't intervene.

Just got possibly my best youth pull ever.

All the staff display diminishing returns. It basically means that hiring an extra five physios won't double their contribution, but probably increase it by 20-30%.

If you can afford 10 physios hire them. If you can't you are probably better off carrying an injury or two and saving the salary.

Doctors are only good to you if you have players injured. If no one is injured then the doctors wages are wasted money. If they are treating guys that are not important to your team, or are not trainees, then it is wasted money.

Dropping training intesity to 95% will probably help you a little more than the extra physios. The loss you get in training is probably more justifiable than the extra $20k (?) a week on the extra physios ... particualry if you are just starting out.

The other training intensity trick is that it can be used to 'spike' performance. Just before a big match (say a promotion game) drop it to 10% and sacrifice a week's training. Gives the team a nice one-off boost which might get you over the line.

Sounds good, yeah i have been playing for a year, but i am still stuck in div VI. But i will probably promote at the end of this season and i am making AU$60,000 profit fortnightly (after home game 1 week, away the other.) so i could probably afford the extra physios, but it would be better to save that extra $$$ overall and spend it on stregthening the squad with better players. So i may try just dropping the training intensity by a few %.

Anyone have any idea how far away the youth pull i paste would be from levelling up in winger?

Sorry can't help there. However if you are thinking of selling you are often better off selling immediately than coaching up a level.

When people look at buying a youngster they look on the player history option and see when he was pulled. If he has been pulled this week it means that he can not have been trained, can not therefore have just popped, so MIGHT be just a couple of weeks away. These are the best guys to buy because they might be high-solid.

On the other hand a guy who has been in a squad for 2 weeks might have been trained and just popped and be a low-solid.

Putting your youth on the list immediately often gets a higher price than popping him and listing him in 4 weeks.

For example I recently sold a 17-year old youth pull. Excellent winger (with 3 inadequates) for a $1m. The price is high because the buyers knew he hadn't be trained so his ratings are raw untrained talent.

If I listed a 17-year old excellent winger who I'd bought from someone else, or who had been on my team for a month, I'd probably get half that amount, and if I trained him to formidable I'd be no guarentee to make more cash.

how'd everyone go today. I lost to the top team 4-0 using PIC.

I still havent got any points and im probably gonna go down to div VI

for the first time ever (as its my first full season) i changed tactics and went for PIC, against a team 2nd bottom with 1 point and i was home. won 3-0 even though it was 0-0 at halftime
im sitting 3rd, dont give myself any chance of getting promoted though

Its alright, I'm into my 4th full season and i am still in div VI as sad as it is. I think this should be my season as i should have a squad competative enough for V, (instead of having one that would end up coming straight back to div VI).

I am now 5 points clear of second after surviving a scare today after having yet ANOTHER defender sent off, i held on for a 3-2 win at home.

I just won 5-0 again. Got 4.5 million in the bank so Im pretty confident Im ok to go up. Training up my young defenders now and hoping to get 4 of them up to outstanding before I go back to the midfielders.

Series: V.134 (9228)

If anyone wants a magnificent defender with excellent experience for a knockdown $4m; or a supernatural keeper for $10m...

Swing by my way ;) (Adelaide Town - 37162)
