I'm top in div 6... This is my second season. It's all coming along nicely.

I'm top in div 6... This is my fourth season.

The good thing is I'm not at all bitter about missing out on promotion by goal difference (1 goal) last season.

Nor am I taking immense pleasure out of the team that beat me sitting in 7th place in division 5 so far.

Is that out of every team in div 6 or just your league? Either way, nice work in your second season.

This is technically my second season, but I am counting it as my first. I got a team with 2 games to play (I think) last season, lost both but started well so far. Watch it all crash soon though.

Just my league. Techniqually this is my third season, but i only had the side for 1 game the "first" season and i only picked that up on the Friday before the last game of the season, so i haven't counted that.

I keep an eye on you. I see where you are and stuff. I get the feeling i'll flounder around 5th div (providing i go up) for a while before i'm a serious challenger, but my players seem to be coming along nicely.

We just like to do things quietly at BCFC - Despite what our press releases say. :)

Whats your team ID, so i can bookmark :)

I'm a decent chance of promotion into Div 4 at the end of season. It's only my third full season. I got reasonably lucky in that i started in a weak Div 5 series.

I have made a solid start to my first season in Div 5. I lost my 3rd game 5-4 despite leading 4-3 at halftime but won last week so i am 2-2 and sitting 6th i think, bottom 2 are winless but its a bit of a logjam with quite a few teams on 2 wins.

I was thinking about mixing my playmaking training with some passing & stamina training maybe every 4-5 weeks (I only have 1 passable stamina) is this a good idea?

Not too sure exactly how long it takes, but set pieces takes 2 weeks so I guess it would be fairly similar. I trained through passes (mid & def) for a week at the end of last season and a few players popped.

I'm not sure it is. Although don't take my word for it. If your im's have anything less than inad passing then i don't think it would be worth it. I think the best way to do it would be to train them up til they are decent level or 21 or so then train passing for 1 season. You might get 3 pops during that time and a nice sell on value.

EDIT: Passing for Mids/forwards takes 5 weeks by the way.

Thanks for the clarification and help. What is the age of a player when training playmaking becomes silly as they take ages to raise levels?

I was thinking it was 20 when to sell them and stop training, but is it 21?

I'd probably need someone to clarify for me, but the difference between training a 17 year old playmaker and a 21 year old playermaker is about 1 week i think? So if it takes 5 weeks for a 17 year old, its 6 weeks for a 21 year old and its a gradual increase every season. Not 100% sure on that.

You can train them for as long as you want, but i guess for people like us in div V and VI it's advisable to sell at titanic. (The wages start to become too much. ;))

That site has a lot of great tips and what not, check it out. :thumbsu:

That is a quality site, reading through his articles now. I think I am getting impatient, I just need to take a step back and let my players train.

The hardest thing I think I will find is which players to sell, which to keep, and getting new trainees in without significantly weakening my side.

Another good site which I've referred to for help on a number of occassions is the Hattrick Wiki.

For passing, you've got a choice between training short passes and through passes. Short passes is for those of you training midfielders or forwards and will take a minimum of 5.5 weeks to pop. Through passes is for those with defending or midfield trainees and takes at least 6 weeks. You also have to bare in mind that if you train passing you need to play a formation that maximises your training. For example to train short passes you can play a 2-5-3 formation which will train 8 players in passing on the Wednesday and 8 players in passing on the Sunday. With through passes you can actually play a 5-5-0 formation which allows you to train 20 players for the week. It's for this reason that many people only choose to training in the off-season because while you can train a lot of players, you may find it hard to win a game with such extreme formations.

If that doesn't make sense, there are plenty of places to get help. Along with the Hattrick Wiki and Hottrick, you've also got the Game Rules and the Newbie conference to get assistance.

I know I play a 5-4-1 formation which isn't exactly conducive to scoring but the ease at which you are winning your games and the amount of goals you are scoring is a slight concern to me. :o

Thanks for the link sainter.

I want to change my formation around a little, give my players extra orders. I am training playmaking, and understand that means 6 players get full & 4 half training. The highest winger my players have is inadequate.

If I set the wingers to 'towards middle' will this a) give them extra training; b) improve performance as it relys more on PM than W; c) cause me to lose training due to too many IM's?

'towards middle' improves your midfield ratings, but you lose significant amount of wing attack. They won't get extra training and you won't lose training using 'towards middle'

All you have to remember regarding (losing) training is that you can play no more than 3 central defenders, 3 inner midfielders and 3 forwards. Play 3 and you are fine. Play a fourth and you lose training for the week.

As Ed Gein said changing a players order from normal/offensive/defensive to towards middle will not result in a loss of training. However changing a winger to extra inner midfielder and already having 3 inner midfielders will result in the loss of training. It's the same if you have 3 central defenders and change one of your midfielders or forwards to extra central defender. You'll lose training.

So far not a very promising start for me in Div 6. After starting last season with 4 games left I was relegated into a very strong Div 6 league (no bots). It is a very slow progress for me at the moment.

I got knocked out of the cup in round 2 and have suffered a long list of injuries to my very small list.

I guess the promising aspect is seeing my defenders popping to solid and now excellent as it certainly is tough going.

Anyway good luck to you guys for your league games this week.

What league are you in?

yea injuries can kill you when you are just starting off as you dont have alot of money left and having to replace them with sub standard players will hurt your season. good luck though and hope you get some players back on the pitch.

Don't worry yourself with results too much Villa.

As long as you have a training program in place the results will eventually come. Not only will you eventually win games when your players become better but you'll be able to sell them and make a large profit. You'll also begin to enjoy bigger crowds as your fan base continues to increase.

I'm in league VI.115, when all my mates started in Div 6 in bot leagues. I guess though that by the time I get out of this league I will be ready for Div 5!

I guess my quick success in Battrick made me expect similiar results in hattrick. I certainly am enjoying the game but when your only striker (due to my training of defenders) is injured for 8 weeks it isn't easy.

At the moment I am playing it cool, while I wait for my better players come back in the side. I guess when you are required to play your coach in a position there is no point in playing match of season.

How are you guys going? as having looked at the start of the season at some of your squads they looked very strong. Anyway thanks for the replies.

Won 2-1 away against a bloke who has a midfielder rated 25340 TSI.

Am 4 points clear in 4th position in my league, 2 points off 3rd & 3 points off 2nd.

Pretty happy with the way things are going into my first real season, one of my trainees just popped to excellent which is nice to see, he scored a brace today.

I had my mind set on a PIC up until just before orders are locked out and i thought i had better normal it. Lucky i changed it. My opponent MOTS'd me and i cam back from 3-1 down to win 4-3. Still 2nd on the table with a 5-1-1 record.

I'm selling a titanic mid for 1.5mil, any takers? Oceanian too :P

won 2-1 in a top of the table clash which sees me move 2 points clear of 2nd and sees my oppenent drop to 4th.

I dont think im ready to move up next season but it looks like im the best in the league and i dont think i should lose games for the sake of staying down.

Im still trying to buy a forward that will give me some strike power up front.
