With Sam just saying publicly that Dimma will be a part of any future premiership, I suspect he is not seen by Sam as being potentially surplus at any stage...
he is the only one(+ Sis) in backline we can still get us a 1st rounder IMO while not leaving a big hole if the replacements step up. We need to be open to the possibility given our list profile.

If Dimma exceeds last year's performance then I wouldn't trade him for even a Top 3-8 pick. Seen him make a few bloopers, so if that continues, this may be the last year to cash in.

Dimma would never get us a first rounder. I love the bloke but that's just not how trading works any more.

And he would absolutely leave a big hole.

I'm not advocating it, but if Mitchell really comes on this season then Hardwick could be a potential option.

Just like with Worpel though I don't see how we could possibly get true value for him.

But if the club is going to be aggressive during the FA and trade periods then who knows what (or who) they are considering.

Mate haven't you seen Mitchell's presser today Dimma is not going anywhere ever. Unless he initiates it

Yeah I haven't seen it.

I prefer we keep sure thing players like Hardwick. It was just a thought out loud given the talk about us being aggressive in the off season.
Here you go mate :thumbsu:

it's all from the same source though, Twomey

No doubt clubs will have a peek but he's contracted so if we want to keep him we can
Twomey, to be fair, is about as well connected with club list managers as anyone. I would accept it as reliable that clubs are showing some interest, noting that he isn't getting a game. Doesn't mean DGB or Hawthorn are interested though.

It’s no different to 12 months ago.

A top 10 pick kpd not getting a game at a struggling club, if the roles were reversed and we weren’t making significant enquiries we would be pretty unhappy. This sort of stuff happens all the time and as we now have greater insight to, a long way ahead of anything actually transpiring.

You'd think DGB will be given every opportunity to develop into the player we hope him to become, especially as we're light on for KPDs. Frosty is approaching 30, the jury is out on Blank and Sicily ideally playing on the 2nd/3rd KPFs to provide intercept and run. But, you never say never and we would listen to offers if they came.

A potential option for what? Hardwick would yield a late second round pick at best on the trade table. He's probably my favourite player at present and I think he should have made the AA squad and is likely (from a non-Hawthorn biased perspective) the second best player in his position in the comp. But he is not the kind of player that will yield a first round draft pick. When we barely have any players in his his age range and he'll be close to being a 150-gamer come end of season it would be madness to trade ihm.

He doesn’t appear to be enjoying this football team. Team huddles he is always on his own.

Hadn't noticed that with the team huddle. He's slightly improved his staging for frees, but reckon the umpires have stamped his papers. He seems to slow the game up, for my liking, when he gets the ball. My gripe with him is he does the Matthew Richardson winge when a kick isn't delivered to him properly. Not a great look for one of the oldest players on the list, to the rest of the team.

Hopefully he can improve on his form. Hasn't been bad, hasn't been good. It's high time for a guy of his ability to be amazing. Kicked one goal for the season?

Hard to see him on our list next year.

In fairness all 3 of those sources are the Ctrl+c, Ctrl+v of sports journalism.

Absolutely agree.

I don't get this.. In your eyes, he is 2nd best player in AFL for the position but only late 2nd rounder.

Lets see your Top 5 or 10 current AFL players for that position and estimate the value of those players for reference. If hawks were looking to trade for them, what would we have to pay.

Either way, if we can get a late 1st rounder, would that not be good position given we have few others lining up to play the same role.
