Stoked with the effort from the entire team, best win since beating fremantle in perth last year IMO.

I don't remember Freo being such an overwhelming favourite at that time. I know they weren't near the top of the ladder after Round 8 last season. Round 3 is early for a victory to be labeled huge, but this was a huge win! Round 9 win at Subiaco last season was not as big as this IMO.

for the record we were 15th and they were 6th and no one beat them by more than 9 goals at subi last year, not even the eagles... anyway lol go hawks

the freo victory away last year was awesome and we beat melbourne too against the odds. and a big win against geelong shows us that teams cant underrate us.

well, what a game eh!

appartently Geelong played really really bad, and thats why we won.
Thats what all the papers say!

We must thank Geelong for letting us win.;)

I really hope a lot of you were able to be there at Skilled Stadium to enjoy the game. By the end of the third quarter, the Geelong crowd had gone silent and the small but vocal Hawthorn contingent could be heard around the ground goal after goal after goal. There was no comeback. Not even the umpires could be blamed for this one. They just had to shut up and let us have our celebration right in their backyard and I for one relished in it.

A win like that when literally surrounding by opposition supporters really makes you feel good inside... especially when you showed up expecting a drubbing.

Here's hoping for more of the same.
