Who gets a game? Buddy?

Going to start getting interesting now, we have Bailey pushing for selection, Hodge on the comback, Goo back from suspension and the team playing pretty well.

You would figure Murphy or Cheney out for Goo, Possibly Hale for Bailey if his leg is sore

If we are planning on having Hodge for the pussies, then he will need to play against the scum this week. Hopefully he pulls up ok from today's game. Also if Hale is sore at all, might be a good chance to rest him and get some game time into Max

Clarko in his presser said that Buddy is ready to play next week just unsure whether he will ease him in through box hill.....:D

In: Goo, Buddy

Out: Cheney, Murph

Hodge not ready in my opinion.

Guerra in for Murphy
Possibly Hodge for Cheney
Possibly Bailey in, got to get games into him. For Hale if Hale is sore or needs a rest. Otherwise maybe for Savage.
Buddy another week, no risks of any sort at this point.

We should devastate them!

Doc Larkin said he's no chance today, which means he'll play.

Just returned from the double (box hill @ vic park and Hawks @ the G) and what a day it was!

Hodge - looked rusty, but if fit you have to bring him in.
Bailey - Just dominated, he is huge.
Changa - Looked good at this level, is he better than savage?

Out
Murphy, he does some good things but too often makes poor decisions.
Cheeney, Very stiff.

Guerra and Hodge for Murphy and Cheney.
Liked the look of our forward line without Franklin - how about Franklin for Young?

Don't think we should drop Young he gives us to much drive. Think Murphy did some good things today and was a lot less scary up forward but I don't think he can handle the kind of pressure that finals football dishes up every week.

Cheney got some good experience today running around with Swan for a while and did some good things also but he and Murphy are the most likely to suffer from Goo and Hodge being available.

Changa is not better than savage, all credit to savage and what he has done for the club but he has no penetration on his kick and doesnt have the acceleration anymore. Changa can run all day but is not fast anymore and can barely kick and kicking long is our new game style so no.

In
Hodge (Sub)
Guerra

Out
Cheney
Murphy (Very Stiff) Murphy might be handy against dons i saw him playing the Defensive FWD role on Maxwell and granted Maxwell played well Murphy was handy think he may be useful against Fletcher.

It will be tough to leave anyone out but Goo is a definite, and Hodge a maybe.
I would leave Buddy another week and I wouldnt bring in Bails yet either.

Murphy and Cheney are probably the unlucky ones, assuming two changes.

Murphy played a stopping role after quarter time I think. He played very well and he plays this sort of role very well. It was great to see him enjoying himself and even kicking a goal. He has shown this year that he is too good a player to be languishing in the twos so it is a case of what is his best role and where does he fit. Played his role as a negating forward as good as I have seen from any of our players in the past few years (albeit I was watching on TV) but I reckon he has a role. Seems to have some good strength which is pretty important.

Murphy has shown he can play at this level. Is he better than the talent we have waiting to come back in? I say no, not best 22 at the moment IMO. Good depth player

I like Murphy and I think he is definitely better than VFL level. He has good strength and shows flashes of being a really good player, he also does a few things that leave you shaking your head or cursing. The forward defensive role he played today was good but I think we have other players that will squeeze him out of that role.

He has a place in defence as well and there are some things he does really well but I think again he will get squeezed out there. He has worked on adding to his game and he is great for our depth but I don't think he will be there come September barring injuries/suspension.

The constant Murphy hate from some is incredible. He was really good today, as he has been other weeks. I wouldn't like to see him dropped.

I thought Murphy's games this year have been good but today was probably his poorest outing. He had a couple spoils where he should've marked, or he failed to kill the contest to the boundary which lead to Collingwood goals. Another time he went for the bump, instead of the tackle which ended up hurting us. He just made a few rookie mistakes under pressure which an experienced player like him shouldn't be making.

It will be interesting to see our outs. I think Murphy, Smith/Savage, and Cheney out.

In: Franklin, Guerra, and Hodge (I doubt he is anywhere close to 100% but have we ever seen Hodge at 100%?)

Young may have got less touches then usual but he is starting to rekindle his form of years past. The difference is his decision making, and he is slowly becoming a genuine scoring threat. IMO I thought Young's long kicking in the past was severely overrated especially by old school hawk fans. He was one of our lest efficient kicks because many times he would kick too long allowing teams +1's (loose defenders) to move across to the contest leaving Franko or Roughie 2 V 1. His long kicks may have looked effective for meterage gained, but many times lead to us being out numbered, and a quick rebound would result. Now he is lowering his vision, making the right decisions, which is vital as he does have a good kick. His goal kicking isn't his best asset, but the positive is he is getting more scoring opportunities then ever which is credited to his hard work with out the ball, and his understanding of our game plan and where to be.

Cheney is a tough out. He is the future replacement of Guerra, and is always a solid contributor. Very rarely is he beaten by his opponent, and I hope with more game time he will become more comfortable with pushing up field when we have possession of the footy as he is a good kick, and has the pace to break the lines.

He has only played a handful of senior games this year so there's no question he is not a regular. I would like to see him tried against Gadget next week.

Anyway, our general depth means that many players will be under the pump each week to keep their spot. This is a key to keeping players on their toes and our march to September and the club needs to be commended on recruiting and developing players. Also keep in mind Savage didn't get a run until midway through the last yet we didn't look too slow with both Murph and Cheney in the side.
