This show is just going from strength to strength. Cole and Marty narrating the shootout as it was covered up at the scene was brilliant.

Who knows where it is going. Someone high up is involved though I believe. I also think the daughter has to have something to do with it, whether witnessing or being a victim of the crimes, they've spent a lot of time focussing on her development.

If they maintain this standard till the end...

Just when you think they can't take the show to new heights.

Best show since Breaking Bad. i keep thinking back to
the guy mowing the grass at the school that was owned by the Tuttle family, and Rev Tuttle was pushing for the task force to get the case. And another one linking in with how today they said something about rich people and people high up being involved makes me think that Maggie's family might be involved with how Maggie and Marty's daughter drew the signs and set up her toys, she might have seen her grandpa with the drawings/signs.
But the show just keeps getting better, i like how we know more about the "Shoot out" than the 2 detectives interviewing Cohle and Hart

Just. Keeps. Getting. Better. This is a show that doesn't waste one second. Can't believe there is still episodes left; so much more rich, creamy goodness to come.

Wasn't expecting a huge leap forward in the time line like that. And certainly wasn't expecting to throw Rust under they spotlight this soon either. The end result to this is going to be phenomenal.

I love that if it gets a 2nd season its going to be an Anthology series like AHS, different story/Characters/Time/Location, but sad if we dont get Harrelson and McConaughey again, McConaughey especially this is one of the best TV performances ive ever seen he will rake in the awards for this.

The end sequence in the school was freaky. Kept thinking something was going to come out of the darkness.

This show is so vivid.

i was half expecting to see a shadow of someone watching him when the camera pulled through the broken window with the painting on the walls on it, in the last shot.

the last shot through the cracked glass seems to be implying that he was being framed perhaps

i want to see what was on the other side of the walls with the trees and stuff. but whoever is using the school is involved, i think this show works far better as a week to week show rather than binge watching because it lets you think about the subtle things and digest the story, and come up with your own opinions on who it is, watching them all back to back might ruin the experience of the show and take away the hard work and quality of the writing.

cinematography, acting and writing is as good as BB (which I hold as the absolute gold standard)

It's really a shame we won't have the opportunity to develop that 5-6 year connection to rust and marty, because this story arc is special.

We can only hope subsequent seasons are as good

Put it this way, if this season was put together as an eight hour film it would sweep the Oscars easily. Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Cinematography, Screenplay, etc. It's that ****ing good.

Just when I get a copy of Robert Chambers` 'The King in Yellow', and order a book on Lovecraft's 'Call of Cthulhu', the show get's right into calling on Carcosa, The Yellow King, Black Stars.

Not that I'm versed on any of the above stuff, but I'm prepared for some pretty out there shit for how this ends, of which I have no ****ing idea.

I loved this bit: “I can see your soul in the edges of your eyes. It's corrosive,” Dewall tells Cohle. “You got a demon, little man. I don't like your face. It makes me want to do things to it. … There's a shadow in you, son.”

Then McConaughey's expression after that - wow. I've never seen an actor who can deliver such tension in his performances, so much so it makes you feel tense and uneasy watching him.

It's just an amazing show. You don't need to just rewatch the last episode to get a better idea of what's just happened, you have to go back to the start. That's how dense it is. I wasn't even thinking about the daughter somehow being involved, completely forgetting about the drawings and the toys. I'm assuming there's a cover-up involving the governor, perhaps Marty's in-laws...who knows. Can't wait to see where it goes though.

Will also be interesting to see if they can get a similar level of talent for future seasons. I assume Nic Pizzolatto will continue to write the series, ensuring a decent level of quality from the get-go. But if they can continue to get people on the level of Fukunaga, McConaughey and Harrelson, we could be in for something really special.

This show, just incredible. Literally gets better every week too, each episode has been an improvement on the previous one.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one thinking this, but I reckon the storage locker is full of evidence he's gathered over the years, including the stick things, which also explains the appearances at the crime scene. Though it doesn't explain who is behind it, especially with the rev dead.

I'm also thinking now we'll get an answer as to who it is.

But that's not Rust in the crime scene photos is it? Just someone who looks like him. Think its all part of the frame-up the higher powers are attempting to put on Rust. 5 individual witnesses/sources reporting a man fitting his description and a similar car to his at the crime scene? Seems a little convinient/heavy-handed. Think Rust was putting it together when they told him that, he did a weird little head nod.

I reckon the cinematography has got Breaking Bad well covered, and that's saying something. Just some amazing visuals in this show.

And yeah I'm actually a bit dissapointed there are only 3 eps left with no more Rust and Marty next season. Can't imagine next one will be as good, how could it be!?

Still amazed how much I'm laughing at one some liners in such a heavy show, quality writing;
"Good to see you commit to something"
"He's conflict-oriented. When I deny him small arguments it builds up his energy"

What an episode, Cohle's comments about our lives just repeating over & over I found really disturbing. Agree with others that it looks like he is being setup & that we have probably met those responsible but is Hart one of them? Suspect he may be & very interested to find out what their eventual falling out was over. We certainly know Cohle is the 'True Detective'...or is he?;)

There's been a number of good British shows in the similar vein utilizing the shorter season duration to maximise quality. Probably nothing except maybe The Shadow Line comes close in quality. But some very good whodunnits have been made recently.

Amazing again. Still have little idea as to how this will all play out.

This might sound hipster, but I'm kind of glad this show hasn't reached the mainstream yet. All the talk about BB's final season was overkill.

it's starting to get there, was at a 21st on saturday and was talking to a guy that was raving about it and recommending it to everybody, he hasn't even started watching it, he just thinks the trailers look incredible
