There has been a fair bit of chatter on a couple the AFL-GM leagues threads by those expressing their discontent with being under hub administration and a rising push to break free, with the move of Kyneton out of the Bendigo to Riddell league raising the issues around hub admin/control.

It has been very publicly expressed (and reported) of Big Pete Cole's frustration the HDFNL has experienced over the journey with AFL CV (excluding their ops manager in the hub) between communication or lack thereof and things like the changing of pre-approvals to the league for the introduction of an additional footy age grade etc to being turned down without explanation.

Does anyone on this thread from clubland or the executive - know is the league also looking to join the movement to also return to being self administered and therefore be able to set up the competition and fixtures the way that suits the clubs within the league, set their own salary cap and points structure, promotion, etc?

Also if this was the case - would that also open the door to re-visit the approval of any of the three clubs that applied previously to join the league?

Are you referring to the Bendigo league thread or elsewhere as well?

Would be keen to have a read.

The two leagues in the AFLGM area currently administered by the hub are the GVL - which there have been comments of discourse between clubs and the board as to whether this should continue/ is in their best interests, and the KDL - which antidotally locally was seen as a basket case for assorted reasons by other leagues in the area prior to the hub, they are probably a bit stronger league now but still at the mercy of being told what to do rather than masters of their own destiny.

IIRC one of the pushes for the PDFNL to not renew their affliction agreement late 2022 was due to the fact they were being instructed to drop their salary cap down to the KDFNL level which was quite a big drop and considered unworkable considering the considerable differences between the two leagues

Hope that helps

The bloke is a freak
definitley! he will bring some X factor to the league...

I see colbo have Patrick Taban onboard, anyone have any insight? looks like colbo have lost a few already though.

Also see Elmore have Nick Mayne from northern Districts I've never heard of him, anyone have knowledge on him?

Taban is from Darwin. He played for Kerang around 2015/16 as an 18 year old. Played mainly at CHB then.
