Hey Guys/Gals

I am a cripple atm due to an ankle operation, and I am hobbling all over the place. So to pass the next week Ive decieded to buy my study laptop a week early.

I can spend up to $2000. So any suggestions would be awesome. ie. where to buy from what brand, any specific lap top.

Thanks alot!

harvey norman salespeople are usually very knowledgeable but also very expensive, so go there find out as much info as possible. then u go to a place like the good guys and pretend like u know wat ur talking about and bargain them down... it worked for me wen i bought a fridge

It means time to form your counterargument SAAndy.

By the way these days pretty much all computers/laptops are just as good as each other unless you're intending to push them to the very limits of their capacity so just get whichever one comes in your favourite colour.
Please use easy english because I don't know what a counterargument is!

Get a MacBook. Even if you're a PC man. Seriously.
I had a Dell laptop and not only did it friggin suck, it broke 2 months after my warranty ran out, and they expected me to pay $900 plus postage costs for it to be fixed. **** that. I'd done my homework and picked out a very highly rated machine, but it turned out to be an absolute waste of money.

A year ago I replaced it with a 13-inch white MacBook and I've come to the conclusion that they're easily the best laptops out there, and I'm a PC user. I was a bit worried about compatability issues, given that my desktop's a PC, but I've yet to have any real problems there. The Apple store give Education discounts too, so that's handy. The model I have goes for $1,649 without the discount, or you can get the newer fancy pants aluminum ones for $ 2,099

Also, their customer service isn't absolutely extortionate like Dell's.
