this time last year jack-pack and myself were heavily critical of Playfair and doubted he was the man who would hold down a key fwd roll but alot of u guys thought he would, now with Ottens, Mooney, Hawkings, Nathan, King, Blake, egan etc in front of him i believe what do u guys think of his future.

I doubt he may even play senior footy ever again but if he does what role do u guys think he could play, is he there just for insurance policy now of could he fill a spot down back etc, be interesting in everyones thoughts

cheers della!

Playfair spent a lot of last year playing CHB in the VFL. I think it is safe to assume that he has been told that there isn't really a spot for him in the forward line unless we had an awful amount of injuries. So he has been trying to re-invent himself as a backman with some success. He may get some games in the AFL on this basis, but time will tell.

I agree with catman, cant see him getting a game as a foward, he looked alright across the back halve, can certainly take a grab, time will tell

Haha. Put a v8 on his wheelchair, and deck the wheels out with razor blades. Nobody would be able to stop him.

Haha, true....I doubt he'd kick many goals for you though.

Legal disposal would be an issue too.

As would interpreting the holding the ball rule. Wouldn't be able to count how many steps he's taken.

Playing on muddy surfaces may be a hassle too...he'd be in danger of getting bogged.

I think he could be used as a central pylon support for the new grandstand, failing that then perhaps he could be used as a spare key position backman when the others get injured, as long as he doesn't need to kick.

Much better option would be using him as the first ever side screen for the Geelong goal kickers. That sun can really put off your game. Just ask Kingsley!

Talentless player who I've never seen put in more than 70% effort...

Don't be fooled by his VFL games last year when he either played loose in defense or on big, slow forwards (who are in the VFL because they barely exist in the AFL these days).

Ok, he may get a run in the backline if numerous injuries occur and the only other option is Spencer....

Iff King goes down, Ottens has to go into the ruck, Hawkins unknown quantity this year and Ablett still to pove himself CHF is a chance.
Last year he started well. If he stays injury free do not write him off
