People aren't serious about the logo on the Windy Hill gates, right? I couldn't think of anything more outdated.
The one we're using as our heritage logo isn't bad. I wouldn't use it on its own but you could incorporate it into a new logo.
I think we're best off going with something completely new though.

We definitely need a new logo, but shouldn't revert to the heritage as our primary, that's a good secondary, or, if we were going the way of Geelong... on-field identity logo.

I actually disagree with you on this. I don't think a logo should necessarily look good, simply it should be as likable as possible. I don't think the gate logo looks fantastic, but for some reason (call it the romantic in me) just loves it. There's something you develop as you get older that's a fondness for things that connect you to a past (even if you weren't around in that past). For me, bringing back an old, cool logo gives you a sense of connection to the history of the club, and that's what makes it so likable.
