Apologies in advance if the formatting sucks. If anyone can advise me on how to make these smaller using PhotoShop I'd much appreciate it. They come out in normal size on tinypic. These photos are from the second half only.

Wood in the ruck contest. He looked a bit short of a run today.

epivwo.jpg

US Shae gets some nice elevation his opponent.

10o44s9.jpg

Nate put in some nice efforts today; a study of concentration here.

Chopper takes a strong mark overhead.

essqah.jpg

Goldsack gets rather near horizontal sending it forward. This one was touched just on the goal line.

nygphy.jpg

The gloved hand of Chris Dawes extends into the air for a duke-ish mark. Unfortunately I don't think anyone put the ball through from this pocket all day.

15cm36f.jpg

Woody gets to the front for the ruck contest from a throw-in.

ta2e12.jpg

Simon Buckley took another step forward today. This one was a clutch goal in the last.

2d6oduh.jpg

Jarrad Blight had the knee strapping off and moved much better today. This was an important spoil which resulted in another inside 50.

11vtojl.jpg

Dawes with another contested mark overhead.

2cdtpud.jpg

This one resulted in an important goal to help seal the win.

dxmzxs.jpg

Blight sends it forward by foot this time. He was missing in the third but omnipresent in the first half and last quarter.

1432nbt.jpg

Another overhead mark from Dawes when it mattered. Unfortunately this missed near side, carried through by the breeze to that end.

2lvctno.jpg

Dawes again flies for a contested mark at the death.

And brings the ball to ground to the delight of the Pies fans. :)

Good to see you got a shot of The Man :)
Ah yes, in the Nathan Brown pic. I actually didn't even know he was going to the game, otherwise I would have caught up with him.

By the way, the guy in the black and gold t-shirt in the Jarrad Blight spoil picture is surely Simon Buckley's brother. Spitting image of him.

Thanks TRS

Great lot of photos there mate

the ground looked in good nick

Just sad you did not get any of the gum tree parker.

Cheers

FMD Dawes can get his hands above his noggin and take a mark, fantastic finally using the dukes

also anyone else lol at the scoreboard, canteen now open super important info that is

Won't be long for Dawes. Dont think he's ever played a bad game at afl level. Just never dominated. Will always offer something.

Mmmm , So your shooting with a Canon EOS 550D hey,

As a Nikon DSLR User & Fan, i'm absolutely appalled at your behaviour - kidding .. sort of :D

Seriously though, it's good to see people showing an interest in DSLR work :thumbsu:
would be good to see more action shots around here like yours.
To kill some of that picture blur (meaning motion Blur , not aperture ) , i'd suggest a much faster shutter speed than the 1/256 you had chosen though,
be well worth it :thumbsu:

Thanks heaps for the advice mate. I've only had the 550D for a couple of weeks so I'm playing around with the settings. To a certain extent when it comes to sporting photos, I set up as best as I can beforehand and then keep shooting rather than set up for each photo, otherwise I'd miss too much.

What I'd been doing is using PhotoShop and resizing to reduce the size of the file, so it didn't take forever to load. When cropping I was sticking to a 4 x 6 aspect, but obviously didn't manage to properly determine the size at which the picture displayed...

Shutter speed was set to auto, so do you think I should set it at 1/400 or more and either use a wider aperture (I'd probably prefer to keep the depth of field though) or set to a higher ISO?

Great stuff TRS enjoyed the pics immensely............

I am sure there is a way with photoshop but its to hard .....

I use a photo storage programme which is free of course (tinypic) and just click and resize to message board size then click again to copy into BF using the insert picture option. Pretty simple ..... until I find an easier quicker way to do it.

Sing out if you need more info

I just figured out how to do it on tinypic, but it's probably a bit too much work to re-upload all those images, so I'll do it for next time.

Thanks though, I've just a few things I can go away and work on now. :)

If wood stays in the ruck for a few weeks our VFL midfield will be very happy

remember a few games of his last year and his tap work to blair et al was superb!

plus with keefe and shae in the squad as well we can have keefe playing backman/ruck, wood playing utility/ruck and shae playing forward/ruck

Because you told me you had Dad Duty's during the Week

Yeah, for Saturday night (first AFL game I've missed this year) and Sunday morning (couldn't go to the player sponsor's breakfast) I did. :(

Not that I should complain, I love looking after the Heir to the Samples. :)

I particularly like that shot of Nathan Brown, TRS, his expression's so interesting.

To anyone who was there - what did you think of the facilities at Casey Fields? It's supposed to be developed as a first-class regional sports facility and I noticed that there was a bit a building going on the back ground. Did anyone go into the rooms? What are they like?
