Is there something wrong with him?
He's done a fair bit less than f.uck all so far this year - very disappointing.

(No, a cheap goal after the game is well and truly lost last night doesn't count either).

Sad to say, but even though Allan has been passable (at best) so far, he's looked more likely than Hille.

I've been a wrap for him in the past, but what gives?

he's apparently been suffering from severe sinusitis for the past couple.

He still hasn't been great though.

Sheedys playing him as a CHF for some reason. Allan has been great I reckon. Doubled the saints highest tap outs 18 to 9. That's where we missed JJ I reckon.

The problem with Hille is that he is a big nancy boy. His efforts to mark/provide a contest are weak at best. He needs to present more and have a more ferocious attack on the ball. Then he might start doing what we need him to do.

Allan will get better - he essentially hasn;t played in 2 years, and this is only his fourth hitout. He is getting better and will improve throughout the season.

Thats pointless if they all go to the opposition. There were numerous times where he had virtually uncontested hitouts, with a teammate free (once or twice it was even Hird), yet his hitouts still went directly to the opposition.

Maybe he is rusty, but lets hope that Madden can weave some magic. Don't get me wrong, I think recruiting Allan was the correct decision...I'm just starting to wonder if he is the answer.

Allan needs to just belt it forward as far and as hard as he can - watch the Lions rucks, they build their clearance plans around it, and it works.

We can do it just as well.

Maybe, but after years of being smashed in hit outs, it's a promising start once we have JJ and Haynes back in a few weeks.
