hmm... you guys may think this is like the other Hitman games, but after playing a couple of levels, i think it's a lot different. First off, i loved how in Blood Money, they just through you into an environment with the objective to kill your target. You could just walk around, kill people (without getting points deducted), put on costumes and were able to walk around without having to sneak around corners and use disguise to fool the AI.

I dunno, i am enjoying this game, but i'm not having as much fun as i thought i would.

It's all still there. Just tweaked (and it does expand more after the first few levels).

The levels for the most part are smaller and not as open, but there's still big environments with targets that play out exactly like previous Hitman games. At the end of the day, quantity wise I feel you're getting just as much, if not more than previous Hitman titles.

The reason you get points deducted for killing non-targets is because they're giving more credence to what's actually supposed to be being done (remember they did tinker with a system similar in Blood Money with the newspaper after the level was completed basically 'grading' how good you were). You can take out a non-target and hide their body and not lose any points however. You can still complete a level ANY way you want, it's just that naturally if you go around killing everyone you're not exactly sticking to the 'Hitman credo', so they will deduct you for straying from that. It's totally fair imo and not only that but it adds more replayability as there's the challenge system to try and more potential variances to the end score.

The disguise system is flawed in certain ways, but it's a more realistic format the way they are doing it. Really in past Hitman games it was fairly ridiculous that you just put on a costume and instantly everyone wouldn't suspect a thing short of seeing you murder a bloke. Here you can get away with a costume as long as those of the same sort don't spot you and even then you still have the instinct meter if you really need a bit of help. It all really just means you have to be more tactical about your approach to a mission, which is what Hitman has always been about, the tactics.

I am absolutely loving the game.

haha sorry, I just did it to get the trophy really. I don't think I killed him as an accident either. Just shot him:D
Well what the flying ****! It says 'accident' as the stipulation to kill him for me, so I've been waiting around for a chance to send him over a railing or something (but once he goes downstairs he literally doesn't move!). If I shoot him it fails the stipulation.:(

My first real Hitman experience and I must say this could be the best game I've played this year. I love the format. I find myself re-starting each level when I do something I'm not happy with, heaps of re-playability.

Kane from Kane and Lynch awesome easter egg.

Hollywood goofed when they made a movie of this with Timothy Olyphant, after player for a few hours it was obvious too me that Michael Shannon would have been perfect.

Lynch is also in the game too.
;)

I've set my own contract up now, pretty lol worthy result in the end. Got caught, knocked out a cop, but still managed to get away without ****ing the whole thing up. And ended up taking out a vendor on my way out of it too as the 3rd target. I like my stipulations as well. :D

Yeah, now I'm near the end, I might start making up my own contracts. I've had a few interesting things I thought would be good if I did it. Like fire axes to the head!
...try my challenge.;)

How'd you get 331k ?? I did everything perfectly and as quick as I could..... only 319k. It was very well done.
No idea.:p I'll see if there's a way to check all my scores and see what differences there are.

I certainly didn't do it very well.:D

In the process of making the hardest contract ever.... You ready HBK619 ??
ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!:D

I checked our scores on my contract too, no way to actually check the in-depth stats on them so I don't know how you scored less.:( Did you hide the bodies? That's maybe the only thing I could think of.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I did. This is on purist so I'm guessing you will have to play it on that as well?

I'm not sure how the difficulty works through contracts. I didn't select anything for the contract I did (since I was doing that off the tutorial base). So I assume it'll cross over, but no idea.

Loving the game thus far, had a lot of fun taking out some rage in the Hope level, I kept getting spotted and just decided that everyone in the town deserved to die because of it. Throwing a knife into someone's head, watching the others form around his body in shock as I then lob a remote explosive at the group and then proceed to send all flying through the air. Good fun.

The stealth is great too, actively encourages you to perfect the levels. Other games like this I didn't mind if one or two guards spotted me, but here it just about means automatic restart

So finally finished it after multiple attempts to get it done the way I wanted but two of the conditions didn't happen for me??? Kill only targets (which I did) and hide all bodies (Which I did).
I think though because it's on the orphanage level that the killing of the guard is also included so therefore he died and I didn't hide body.

I find myself just shooting them in the back of the head most of the time and fighting it out lol, Im too impatient to do all the bullshit.

Just on the disguises, i don't mind how they work, it makes you think about it more than past games

I enjoy the disguises. Pisses me off when I get busted.

I was doing a mission and one of the guys I was after went to exactly where I hoped he would, oh the death.

I will go for the "fight it out technique" generally if I goof and I don't want to restart because I'm well deep into the mission.

Looking forward to creating my own challenges after i finish the campaign, it's really starting to pick up, as HBK619 said, i just finished the Vixon club level and loved it.

So for classic Hitman lovers is this game is worth the purchase?
In a word, yes. In 2 words, **** YES!!!
After looking at the scores for my contract HBK... I think it gives the creator a sort of boost so it's harder to beat their original score. I created a new more friendly one which I think is pretty good... pretty quick though.
I got caught. So I piss bolted to the exit. I need to play more on purist to get a feel for things before taking a stab at that challenge. I got all the way to the cafeteria but then got seen by the guys behind the bar, I just have little awareness without the mini-map (and to be fair the map has ALWAYS been a big part of the Hitman games).

I agree though that the creator does seem to get a boost, I have a feeling it has to do with the timer that runs down after you nail your first kill, seems to give little leeway to the person trying to re-create the contract.

I'll give your next a run through in a bit.:)

The Hit(wo)man Nun level...OMG...THE HIT(WO)MAN NUN LEVEL!!!!

That is absolute Hitman at it's brilliant best, so ****ing awesome! And I'm not even done with it yet.

Is anyone going to attempt to finish this on Purist? i'm going to give it a crack once i've finished it the first time, but there's going to be a s*** load of re-starting going on haha
