And i lol'd when u congratulated Mcphee for winning a BnF over Misiti and Mercuri - and Hird, Lloyd, Fletcher and Lucas. For the record Gilbee is a previous All Aus, finished 3rd in the BnF (team finished outside the 8 - Dons lost in semi-final)and is regarded by many as the one of the best kicks in the AFL.

Deledio did not start out in the midfield. Shane Tuck started out as a negative midfielder, if you don't think he's a gun either you don't watch Richmond (which is fair enough! ) or you know nothing about football.

Mcphee won AA in '04, I never disputed Gilbee as being a great kick.

Gilbee won AA in a team that finished outside the 8 which IMO adds more to the award. Both Tuck and Deledio showed more promise then Monfries who averages a moderate 16 disposals and is 3 months older then Deledio who averages 24 disposals and is a BnF winner

Deledio played midfield, of course he's going to average more possessions. Aside from the fact they're at obvious differing levels of physical development.

Tuck showed more promise? Is that why he couldn't get a game at Hawthorn when they finished 10th and 9th?

I'm tipping you know as little about our list as most of the other posters who troll on BF... anyone can look at statistics. Rioli only had 10 possessions in Hawthorn's premiership, could've won Norm Smith but he's crap because he averages less than 15 possessions?

What worries me is that there are people out there who actually believe this inane drivel. While you're right about the fact that he'd be on a huge package wherever he went, do you honestly believe that he went to the Blues for football reasons?

Judd knows that his body will not stand up to the rigours of modern football indefinitely and he's taken the option which will guarantee him a large pay packet for an extended time. You're paying him 7 figures for the next 5 years even if he does a Dulcify. And you've still go to fit all your other young up and comers in to your salary cap when they renegotiate.

I know it's hard to admit that you've purchased damaged goods, but Judd should at 25 be in the best form of his life, not battling injury throughout the year until he can be operated on in September. It says something about the philosophy at Carlton that it suited your interests more to make sure he was on the park at every opportunity rather than trying to get him right.

A speculative and simple argument. You speculate that Judd won't deliver in his time at Carlton. Well, he won the B&F this year and i'm more than impressed with his awesome 'inside' work all year. Any other Melbourne club would have offered him a 5 year contract.

You also prattle on about Judd not going to Carlton for football reasons. What an ignorant you sound when the man himself has clearly said a MAJOR reason for him coming to Carlton was the talent of the young list. I'll take his input over yours any day of the week.

We'll actually be in a position to make some sort of definitive judgement on both of these points in 2-3 years time. I'm personally very much looking forward to witnessing what Judd and the team accomplish in that time.

It's taken them about 7 years, but finally they admitted it, by sending him from the midfield to defence to pick up cheap kicks in the backline, next to other recycled hacks such as Guerra, Gilham and Croad. It's like being sent from regular school to special needs class. There you go Hodgey, forget about the midfield, this is more your speed.

Of course, Judd is so one dimensional that he can ONLY play in the midfield (Albeit he's pretty good at it)

However Hodge can be played pretty much anywhere (Havent seen him in the ruck) and can be expected to do damm well at it.

Congratulations Hawthorn on winning the 2008 premiership. Cherish it, i get the feeling it'll be your last for a while.

There is no doubt that Carlton are coming. And with the greatest FF in the comp(fev), the great player in the comp(judd), and the greatest young gun in the comp (Gibbs), carlton will do a hawthorn and knock off the favourites for the cup next year.
