Prediction Hodge to relinquish Captaincy?

Have we ever had a captain that played at another club?

I reckon we'd be the only ones that haven't had player that had played elsewhere captain.

Hard to see Hodge playing in 2017 and NOT being captain.

24 hours ago it was hard to see Sam Mitchell playing for another team.

I just don't know anymore.

Lewis deserves the nod as the long-term VC - but we are at a point where we need to regenerate a bit and I think the last thing Lewis needs is the added pressure and responsibility of captaincy.

I've seen Sheils marshall the troops a bit - I think he's being groomed. For mine it's him or Gunston to take over.

won't comment on Sheils but I think gunners is off with the pixies..... he might b back next year,,,right now he needs to concentrate rather than worry about directing the team

You'd imagine that Lewis is out of the picture now; Sheila or Gunners seem the likely vote.

Gunner or Roughy. That said a bit of pressure for Roughy so he would need a major "all clear"- but I'd love him to lead our club

Hodge wont hand over the Captaincy.
He is by far the best man for the job by a long way.
2018 will see a change of the guard as captain with the likes of Shiels & Gunston the obvious choices.
I also think that the next captain will have a short tenure as they will have a caretaker hold on it while the likes of Burton, Lovell & JOM.. if he gets here, cement them selves into the Hawthorn way.

Yeah leave it with Hodge for 2017 seeing him lead us from the front again will ease some of the post season pain.
