Hogg vs White

One is a bowler who can bat a bit. The other is more of a batsman that can bowl a bit.

Which would you prefer to see in the ODI team?

White because simply he is a batsman. Lee, McGrath, Bracken, Johnson, Symonds is enough bowling so have Wite the batsman and give him a few overs here and there

So you want to go with a batting lineup that has crumbled twice in two games? yes White has failed in those games too but 5 genuine batsmen isnt enough.

Yep, bowling is probably of a better standard, Batting is a lot better.

Why would he be a better option? White has made more runs than him this season at a better average. If you want Hogg to play so badly push Clarke or Hussey up to opener and drop Hayden.

To be honest as well as being a far superior bowler I think Hogg would be a better no.7 than ********e as well.

White is a one trick pony who can slog it around when we are batting first and already have a good platform, when we're in a tight chase however he can't handle the pressure

I don't think he's ready yet personally and this experementation detrimental to the teams balance and quality.

He doesn't look like a batsman yet. Definitely not someone good enough to hold his place in the best cricket side in the world on that merit.

Bus24 mentioned Voges and he'd be a far better option.

Haddin would be a far better option. Gilchrist will be hanging up the gloves soon and what better way to groom him into the side than him being a permanent member even with Gilchrist in the team. His batting form warrants it.

Symonds can be relied upon for 10 overs far more than White can and having the two of them to bowl out 10 isn't logical imo. You're taking away from Symonds superior bowling by restricting him overs.

Infact more than anything the quicker Watson comes back for Australia the better. Ideally you'd place him with Hayden, who

1. Didn't deserve his recall in the first place

2. And has done exactly as he did since being recalled to get dropped in the first place

I'd bring in Voges/Haddin and Watson for those two.

Obviously Tait should be there somewhere but the bowlers are doing fantastically well at the moment and although he's better he may just have to be content with a squad place until an oppurtunity presents itself.
