Meanwhile, delisted youngster Tim Houlihan appears set for an AFL lifeline in December's NAB AFL Rookie Draft, with the Eagles keen to re-rookie the wingman.

Houlihan, 21, who was contracted for 2011, was surprisingly axed last week after a season ruined by injury, but Worsfold said he would continue to train with the club.

"We'd still like to try and get him back on our list … definitely as a rookie, if not back on the senior list," Worsfold said. "That depends on various things, but at this stage we'll try and re-rookie Tim."

Good news. My only memory of Houlihan was him bursting through the Doggies midfield on the way to kicking a goal and helping secure the first win I'd seen in Melbourne since the Grand Final.

We need speed.

yeah, that was a terrific run - all the way from the backline too + he kicked accurately.
One of our better wins that.

Good news, pretty much a no-brainer.

The "if not back on the senior list ... that depends on various things" comment suggests to me that they might grab him in the PSD if they can convince Hansen to retire.
Would suggest that someone else is going after the draft?

That's exactly how I read it also. Has anyone heard if Hansen has been out on the training track?

Todays paper had some comment or quote from Woosha saying with the loss of talls Hansen was a useful back-up and was keen to press for selection still... or words to that effect

Just listen to his "press conference" at training yesterday on the WCE site. That's where he was quoted. Said that delisting and re-rookieing Hansen doesn't fit in with there plans so they delisted Houlihan.
