do it.

after i got sick i had to change careers, best thing ive done. study online and you can do the work as fast as you can get through it.

if you do tafe online first that will help get a job and should get you advanced standing if you go onto a bachelors.

i thought i was too old but there were alot older than me when i went back doing a career change

Cheers mate appreciate that.
I wanna do something related to crime.

/not commit any

I did a graduate certificate (Business) last year and it isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Employers CGAF about it I don't think despite it being higher than a bachelors

I'd be careful what you study online as lots are just a moneymaker/sales efforts rather than an actually respected education.
I think it depends a bit on context. If you are looking to make a major career change, well-chosen online study can be really helpful in terms of creating a link between your experience and the requirements of the field you want to enter. Even a short course can help you pick up some useful basic knowledge, plug a gap in your resume, and demonstrate to potential employers that you're committed to the new career.

On the other hand a short course in a field you are already pretty experienced in has more limited marginal value

I interviewed a guy a few months ago who had never worked in project management, but had his CSM qualification. Of course, nobody on the panel thought that having his CSM somehow made this guy an agile development guru - but we were impressed that he was motivated and interested enough in the career to drop a decent amount of his own money on learning about it. It certainly counted in his favour against others with a similar lack of experience.

doing a grad cert related to my employments atm, its thru a Uni so fingers crossed its deemed worthy. cant say ive learned too much but I guess it looks good on a resume, also my work is paying half of it so not too much out of pocket.

Can't complain too much at all. I would like to travel and get back to Australia at some stage but obviously that's not gonna happen for a while. I miss live sports, the cinema and having groups of people over. Apart from that, not much has changed though really. Work is good. I only had to spend about 5 weeks working from home last year. We've been pretty lucky.

What about a short course on writing?

And i write a true crime novel.

(and get like a job to pay the bills)

Yeah, I noticed the timing was pretty good and it had a concession rate you might be able to get. Cool campus too. Right in the heart of the city. My wife went there ages ago.

I have a friend who does this... also does a lot of transcribing. Works from home a lot, which is convenient as she’s a single mum.
