Question. If you were selling something, and a stranger suggested to you to put your item on Ebay auction because you will get a lot more for it. And you did.
Would you throw them a bone, or is thanks enough?

Thanks is enough. They gave you a suggestion as a friend for something you were (assumedly) trying to get rid of, they didn't reshape your business.

I think we all would.

Don't do as I did once. Went to the bank scratching my head over getting a new garage, young scuffler made calls and pulled strings and got me a no deposit unsecured loan at a hugely discounted rate. Very pleased, I went hunting for a thank-you card that didn't involve flowers or thinking of you or similar shite. Aha! "A small token of my appreciation" - just perfect.

At our next meeting, handed it over, he was grinning from ear to ear, opened it up, "Thanks for all your help, regards OTP"

That was the exact moment his face froze and I realised the card was meant to have something inside it...
