Our injury list from the Sun?

MEDICAL ROOM
Jack Grimes re-injured his back last week and is likely to miss about four weeks. Russell Robinson (achilles) and Daniel Bell (thumb) are also looking at about a month's delay to their season while Jamar (foot) can't play for eight weeks. Jared Rivers will go into the season underdone after a pre-season affected by hip and groin problems.

I mean come on.

How long has Robbo been in the game?

And at which point of this pre-season did JR go down with hip and groin problems, that was last year and the year before respectively. Surely it doesn't take a great deal to check a few simple facts.

A trivial thing to be getting pent up about yes, but they are such basic errors.

Good lesson for all budding journos out there.

DO SOME BLOODY HOMEWORK!!

Seriously, the level of journalism in Australia is just so bad at the moment. Biggest bunch of slackers you've ever met.

Rivers has not done a full pre season. He also rolled his ankle in the one of the praccie matches and then missed the next. I would say Rivers in under done, Dean Bailey has said that him self.

Compared to previous seasons, Rivers himself has stated he feels much better this time around.

"I'm very confident about my body," he said

The reporter is insinuating otherwise. You are right about the ankle, but the ankle is nowhere near the hip/groin area, I'd like to think we are all hoping those injuries are well and truly behind him.

Yes but at the beginning of the pre-season he wasn't able to participate in full training because he was still recovering from the hip/groin injuries.

Yeah it is bloody annoying, its not like he hasn't been round for 10 years or is a no name player.

The Herald Sun also in the 2009 afl sesaon preview magazine by Mark Stevens also said rivers won the rising star in 03, no he didn;t it was 04.

They make plenty of mistakes, especially in cricket season when they have the scroed printed in thr article. The scored will say Ponting made 75, then in the article (right beside the scorecard) it will say Ponting made a valuable 73, how hard is it to right the proper score!

Journos always make mistakes, most of the time they're just talking out their ass. its best not to pay any attention

Was there a byline on it? Because the chances are it was a sub-editor that knows sweet FA about football and didn't do his job in checking the spelling of the name.

Probably not a reporters fault.

The journo shouldn't have spelled it wrong in the first place, but yes, sub editors should have picked it up (papers usually have specialised sports sub editors too, which makes the mistake even worse)

The subs we have aren't specialist sports subs (not a Mickey Mouse paper either), and something like injury lists is normally something just sent through by the club or compiled by a work exp kid. I doubt a journo would have even touched this article.

Seeing the thread's already active, I thought I'd add another blunder from the Sun yesterday
Many clubs, Melbourne, Carlton, St Kilda and Hawthorn included are yet to announce their No.1 ticket-holders for 2009. But where to find them?
Full Article Here
We have arguably the greatest football player of all time come on board a good couple of weeks ago and he has NFI... to make it worse if he had've bothered doing a 2 second google search he would've found out pretty quick
