Carlton need a lot of money just to get out of debt, without the type of salary Cookie would command. For all they think they prayers are answered there are worrying signs, a president that wasn't even elected to the board, that's only going to be there a year, brings back his mate that got them into trouble in the first place, etc. Would you work there?

Never in doubt. Why would you go to that mess. Also, 'Cookie' has had two stints as a club CEO, he'll want something bigger when he goes. He apparently was in the mix for the top soccer and cricket jobs. To our benefit, he missed both. Let's hope he sticks around for a while yet. Top sports CEO's are hard to come by.

I think Cook is great, but his market value would have been greatly eroded by his inability to keep a finger on the pulse of the organisation and that he was not aware of the extent of problems in the club.

He's not going anywhere soon.

I don't think cook would leave the CATS to be CEO at another club. He would be more interested in going up like an Andrew Demetriou type position.

He has actually stated as much in the past, but he will go at some point of course. Even there though they have stated that they have a plan for the post Cook-Costa era.

Cookie said on AW this week that Costa intends leaving the board at the end of this year but will retain a close connection with the club through coterie groups and the like. He gave no indication he would follow suit.I guess it all depends on him getting the sort of position he would want and, for reasons that puzzle me, getting such a position has eluded him to date.
