How many inside mids do we need?

I know this might sound a bit strange, But do we need and "Enforcer" type midfielder in the team? Im refering to a Solomon or a Damien Hardwick or a Byron Pickett that imtimidates opposition players but at the same time protects the kids?

No not a requirement.

proof by contradiction: Who is Collingwoods enforcer player equivalent?

The only 2 young midfielders that I think can be "intimidated' from our best squad is Hill and Fyfe, and I think we can deal with that with Mundy, Barlow and Morabitto coming back, and some imaginative coaching (eg Hill to hbf, Fyfe forward). Those 5 players are guns, and will make it very difficult for tagging to be effective as there are others who can become playmakers.

Not sure on the Fyfe intimidation thing.

He's all man.

I'd say that played a part in getting McPhee.

Adam McPhee.

I think we could use another inside mid that can dig out the ball, and get to stoppage after stoppage, has good skills and reasonable (but not brilliant, necessarily) pace.

I'd love us to pick one up in this draft.

But I reckon we should pick up the best KPF option we can get our hands on with our first pick. Then draft another KPF/KPD with the next. We're in the poo in terms of our KP stocks, especially up forward.

And then use our first pick next year to pick up the best inside mid we can get our hands on... they develop quicker than talls so starting a year behind won't be much of an issue. And despite the fact that we've got a little bit of depth for inside mids, I can't remember the last one we actually drafted with an early pick since Palmer. Top quality inside mids are still critical in the modern game, and we haven't placed enough importance on drafting them for a while.

We can probably grab a decent inside mid with a later draft pick this year, or even via the rookie list.
