How many more Losses b4 we write this season off.
I think.......
If we lose to Carlton tonight, are out of the finals Race ??
If so how many more wins would we need to say this season is still an improvement on last year.

One would suggest that more wins then last year is an improvement but last year we were smashed by injuries and this year we have had a great run, so is 5, 6 or 7 wins expected as a better year.

Prior to the season I had picked last weeks game as a win, the Freo game as a win and the Brisbane game as a win as well.
However I had us losing to the WB.
So we should have been 5 wins and 4 losses still in touch with the 8.
Now we dropped those games and with our hard run coming up I think if we dont win tonight we mite as well write the season off as we would be nearly 3 games outside the 8.
Our next 8 games:

Cats @ subi- Certain Loss
Tigers @ etihad- Possible win
Hawks@ Subi- Possible Win
Melb @ Mcg- Have been playing well (Possibile Win)
Stk @ Subi- Certain Loss
Port @ AAMI- Certain Loss
Freo @ Subi- Possible Win
Ess @ Subi- Possible Win
No Certain Wins !!!!

So if we Lose tonight I think it would be better to play all youngsters again and get more games into them, You can call it Tamking but I prefur to call it Building for the future.

I tend to think that if we do lose tonight then i dont hold much hope for us making the 8 for this year, not that i expected us to. But on the other hand this year so many teams are even. 6 teams on 20 pts and 4 on 16 pts. We

What would make a good season for me is if we break our away hoodoo and beat the teams we should beat at subi.
AND TO BEAT THOSE BLOODY PURPLE ****TERS!
hopefully this isnt asking too much

After the Melbourne game my partner said to me, "Thats the last win we will see for two months, so I hope you enjoyed it."

I laughed at the time, but now think it was pretty prophetic.:(

The we are currently playing they're all certain losses. We have too many uncommitted players out there. The skills are terrible. Is that a prerequisite to rebuilding? Rebuilding or not I still expect the team to put in a 100% team effort which has not happened in the last two matches.

Our season is kaput.

edit: Lecras is going on a rampage. Maybe, just maybe I spoke to soon?

Depends on how Richmond, North and Melbourne fare.

Geelong @ Subi (Loss, ten goals plus)
Richmond @ Docklands (Winnable but away i would say no, On Current form we lose this game)
Hawthorn @ Subi (Loss, will get rolled as Hawks use us to build up confidence)
Melbourne @ Docklands (Possible win, but away we will lose)
St Kilda @ Subi (Loss)
Port Adelaide @ AAMI (Loss, spanked them but things have changed since then)
Fremantle @ Subi (Away) (Possible win but id put this down as another loss)
Essendon @ Subi (Spanked, margin will be 30+)
Western Bulldogs @ Docklands (Spanked, had a late start to the season).
North Melbourne @ Subi (Probable win, but could go either way)
Adelaide @ AAMI (Loss)
Richmond @ Subi (Winnable, but if we stand on four wins where i expect us to be we will throw it away)

Agree, the Melbourne board seems to have no issues with getting a PP.
A bubble burst for me a little bit with the Collingwood loss.

Before that, I thought we were maybe close enough with the current crop that some incremental improvements could get us into the eight.

Does anyone still want us to win 5-8 games rather than 4 games?

Some people have said: "oh, but four wins will mean Woosha is definitely sacked."

Give me the two top five picks. All day long.

If they continually play like they did against Collignwood than I think Worsfold should be sacked. Regardless of what situation we are in I want the team to put in 100% effort and show some fight. I don't want to support a team that tanks.

Well, he probably won't be.

Who would you like us to hire instead?

I don't want to support a team that tanks.
Well, that's your prerogative.

Doesn't mean we won't be better off winning four games, rather than five, six or seven.

Give me the 4 wins now, but with the way we've played the last 2 games i think we'll manage the 4 wins on our own accord without the need to tank. I have no idea whats happened, but we've capitulated. Either grossly overestimated our players ability or the coaches game plans are useless. Or the young kids are nowhere near coming along yet. Im hoping its option 3.

We just don't have elite talent in our side. And the young players have some talent but have not shown enough to suggest they can bring us back to top.

WE NEED CLASS, end of story.

Yep on the money!!

Taking the blinkers off our kids are just that kids, our few class players are being expected to carry all the load and our mid range players (Rosa, Bones, Nickoski etc) have stagnated or gone backwards..

Not sure where the class will come from, perservere with the kids and hope we find some more quality in this next draft.

pathetic. bringing in the culture of tanking to this once proud club. wow 2 top 5 draft picks. no guarantees on them performing either. ffs

Tanking would indicate that we had some talent in the side but were not really trying. We are trying , we just don't have enough game breakers in our side.

Seriously, we are desperate need for Grade A Talent.

I have been saying most of the year that we will continue to struggle away from home, ala 01-04, but will continue to be competitive at home.

We have had 3 really bad performances this year - Saints, Collingwood and Carlton of which all 3 are likely to play finals. The picture is not all that bad, we are a young side who still has a lot of developing to do.

I would like to see some consistency in our performance, like for example Melbourne with ave losing margin only being 20 points over the year. But the fact of the matter is we travel every 2nd week and that will bring a level of inconsistency no matter what.

I think we will still win somewhere between 5-8, as predicted at the start of the year, if we were to manage this then i would think it would be seen as a positive year.

If were to lose all games from here i would not be to unhappy either - if ya know what i mean
