But we all saw how that was with his days at Cleveland. Yes he has a good basketball IQ and good passing ability and can, but if LeBron was able to create offense from off the ball, he could be more deadly.

i agree in parts with your post.

but can lebron coexist with a star PG in the league? that is the question that needs answering.

The current Miami team that just went down 4-1 to the Spurs in the finals has 0 championships left in them.

Bosh and Wade have to go.

I think it would bring the best out of him

I guess a question you can ask is: with two championships in four consecutive finals series, would you consider this whole Miami group successful?

I would say yes I guess, but I guess it depends on what you were expecting, and what you are comparing it to.
Nope. A old Celtics team almost won two (and they're considered a failure by plenty), and this Heat team is incredibly lucky to have even won one.

They were on the verge of elimination in 2012, and were a Ray Allen three from a finals loss.

Deep down in 2010, many were scared of what this team could do. The fact that they just lost to a team that many thought were done in 2010 speaks volumes in my opinion. They never got to super-team level. Maybe during that winning streak but always looked beatable.

when i think about pairings i would love to see i think curry , lebron bogut would be great.

curry draws defenders very deep as he can and is willing to hit from deep. bogut is a great rim protector but is the best screener for guys on the perimeter that ive seen (granted i dont watch a lot of bigs as closely as i watch bogut but damn curry is much better when bogey is on the floor setting screens for him)

dream line-up

bogut
kevin love
lebron
thompson
curry

trade david lee out for cap space for a strong back-up for bogut. keep iggy if cap allows (can play sf/sg off bench while james plays sf or pf in a small-ball line-up) or trade him out. bring in two types of players. guys who can stroke the 3 off the bench in catch and shoot ala mills/bellenelli. guys with length who can defend/hustle ala splitter/diaw.

tell steve kerr to spend all summer teaching these guys to spread and pass the ball and trust their team-mates. lots of scoring options there. thompson has the length to defend his position well. is a hot/cold shooter if he can buy into the pass first system he will work out and spread the floor otherwise trade him out. im assuming that both james and love are free agents and golden state has cap room if they clear david lee and maybe iggy. would consider thompson if needed. dont see this happening but i think if coached right that team can play very good basketball for a few years

Can I have what you are smoking please?

you disagree?

bogut is a great workhorse and talented player. rim protector and will work hard to make sure guys get open shots by moving out and setting solid screens. perfect player to pair with lebron. curry is a great shooter and great passer when teams push up on him and he can get into the lanes. curry is a bit shoot happy but as i said kerr presses these guys to trust the system and they could work great together. the question marks are who do you put around bogut , curry and lebron? anyway ive alreay stated i dont think it would happen but its one of the better fits i see.

the other pairing ild like to see is lebron in phoenix with goran dragic.

no your smoking something to think that the team could actually be formed. For one the only way to get Love is to trade for him, which you didn't address. You then want to add two max guys (LeBron and Love) to a team that can't possibly afford two max guys.

And probably the biggest thing is LeBron doesn't want to come to the West because he is a pussy and wants to play in the lolEast.

the main point was in reference to matching lebron to a team with a star point guard that would work. i mentioned that a curry , lebron , bogut core could work really well. im pretty sure i then mentioned love in a dream line up. in the passage after that i mentioned i was assuming love and lebron were out of contract. i also mentioned you would have to move on david lee , maybe iggy , and maybe thompson depending on what would work. it was all pretty hypothetical. you got locked onto the wrong part of my post. the previous posts all spoke about if lebron could work with a star pg or not. i throw up a scenario where i thought he could. it was that simple.

i agree. i don't see this current miami line-up improving next year. i see it going backwards with no battier and ray allan, birdman , oden , and the rest of their old supporting cast getting older and not looking healthy. think okc would easily have their number next year if spurs dont make it. indiana could improve although i just think they are too stagnant on offense too often.

If Indiana can get a legitimate PG in that team then they are going to win the East. That is their biggest issue.

legitimate point guard?

depends on your definition but i i think the point guard you are refering to ie payton , stockton , steve nash types (even ones with 1/4 the talent but similar play) are incredibly rare nowadays.

most just seem like shooting guards with bodies too small to be shooting guards so play the pg role?

None, Wade is finished. The only way the Heat win the title next year is if Wade opts out, Bosh is traded for Love and Melo comes in for Wade

A few things to consider is how will the Spurs go next season. Will their big 3 comeback. If they do and all the key role players return like Mills, Splitter, Diaw, Green etc... then the obvious improvement in Kawhi. How do the Heat beat that team?

Even with Duncan and Ginobili being super old, the way they play, they dont require athleticism or speed to win games. It's all fundamentals and smart basketball.

If the Spurs dont get out of the west, can the Heat beat OKC over 7 games?

Will Rose come back and actually play and be Rose again? Paul George is getting better and better and if Indy can make a move for a proper PG then can Miami beat Indy.

I cant see it, not without major changes to the playing roster. If LBJ, Wade and Bosh all opt in, I cant see where the improvement comes from.

0 rings left for wade and bosh. Wade and bosh have to go. I that core sticks together it will be of great detriment to lebron. He deserves so much more. Wade looks a shell of himself and let's give it , bosh was never that good .

If lebron commits to another 3-4 years with bosh and wade, he will waste his prime . Surely he cannot play with a wade on a max deal who cannot even gets through a playoff series now , let alone a full season, how bad will he be in 2 years??. Signing wade and bosh again, unless they take massive pay cuts , has the ability to cripple the miami franchise

I'm pretty positive Bosh and James will stay and be involved in our next run. Wade is the key though he either will open up options or be an old cap chugger which gives us no flexibility

If wade wants to stay at heat, he and bosh need to take a massive pay cut so there is room to recruit other players. If wade and bosh are maxed contracts , the heat will not win another ring, wade is only going to decline and bosh is not worth that much money .

Why would james realistically commit to a restricted heat cap when he can join someone like the rockets with the best centre in the game , a young harden who can spread the floor and also drive into the lane.

If wade and bosh won't reduce salary, Houston is a much better option for lebron

Spurs will comeback the same, It is a blight on OKC if they can't do enough next season to overtake the Spurs in the West. Brooks should have been gone months ago. A great offensive coach could turn the Thunder into an incredibly scary team.

Wouldn't sleep on Houston either. Dwight Howard started to pick up his game significantly in the playoffs, and dare I say he looked like old Dwight. They also have some flexibility to address their weaknesses at the one and four positions.

Rose won't comeback the same. He's the 2014 Penny Hardaway sadly. As for the Pacers, their issues go well beyond just finding a proper point guard. Where are they going to pull a proper point guard from anyway? They're stifled by the cap.

I'd be shocked if Wade opts out. The bloke has never struck me as a unselfish team first guy like a Parker or Duncan who took lower deals to give the Spurs cap flexibility. Even if he does, the Heat still won't have many options. This core is done, and it would take something incredibly not only from LeBron but Wade too, if they want to win another title. They'll still be stuck with scrubs in Chalmers and Cole at the one, a washed up Ray Allen on the bench and not much in the big man department other than a declining and increasingly useless Bosh.

Wade isn't retiring. He's owed 20M next season.
Yep I reckon he's about as much chance of opting out as Amar'e was. He owes absolutely nothing to the Heat organisation - as much as I hate him, he dragged an anonymous 'Fremantle' of the league to their first championship in his third year as a pro and set the table for another two by doing so. He can sacrifice these two blue numbers Screenshot 2014-06-22 15.39.28.png
for the greed of the Heat organisation or he can take the money that is rightfully his, remain a one team legend and a veteran presence in a rebuilding side. While his knees can probably handle partial regular seasons, this year probably shows four taxing playoff series every year is beyond him.

LeBron is the one that needs to move onto greener pastures IMO, Bosh would probably be best served remaining with Wade as neither of them are getting near $21mil per from their front office or any other (Bosh gets $40mil over 3 max and Wade $20mil over two).

No way do Bosh and Wade restructure their deals. That is massive money to walk away from. I think LeBron will opt out and look at New York, Chicago, Cleveland and Houston as possible landing spots.
