Yeah thats right its round 3 and im talking about who and how many we need to delist in your eyes. Last year we had 3 draft selections traded in 2 players and took our PSD selection and upgraded 2 rookies for a total turnover of 8 players.

So this year what is required? IMO i think its time to let some players go:- Tivendale, Hyde i would say a certain to be banished servicible players but time is up. I think then players like Meyer, White, Graham, Casserly and even Kel Moore are on notice if they dont pull something together. So i'd say we'd be looking at 5 delistings. There wont be any retirements yet i wouldn't be suprised if there were some trading done for draft picks. Players like Tuck could be thrown up at the trade table.

Im guessing 5 players to be turned over.

Kelvin Moore? You're kidding right? Has come on nicely and is the only tallish defender we have who has some decent muscle and grunt and you want to get rid of him?

Muscle and grunt??? Muscle and grunt???

Still built like a toothpick!

Look the kid has improved....let's face facts...he had too...but I'd be stopping short of muscle and grunt!!!

When I think grunt, I think Kingy, Foley..not Kel Moore!

Muscle..... well I don't really think of anyone at Tigerland...we still look way too small and underveloped!!!

Agree, seems super competitive and he's shown massive improvement this year so far.

Johnson, Bowden, Brown and Richo are getting very very close to the end. Tivendale + Hyde are obviously gone. Mitch Morton/Riewoldt may well get Pettifers spot by seasons end putting him under pressure. JON + Meyer would want to improve significantly by seasons end.

My point regarding Moore is that he has had 4 years on the list and we have shown faith so if he doesnt continue current form and is dropped then the axe will be wielded i doubt anyone disagrees with that?

He is hard at the ball yes but doesnt make our backline scary does he. I'd prefer McGuane down there.

Never too early to talk about deadwood after the last 2 weeks.

My 5c worth -by the end of the season 2 of Johnson Bowden and Richo will get the tap on the shoulder and asked to do the honourable thing and retire as Tigers. Brown and Simmonds could almost make this group depending on form or injury through rest of this season.

Tivendale and Hyde delisted.

Doubt any of the youngsters get cut unless they act up like Peterson last season but for arguments sake say there is one underperformer that gets cut loose.

At least Pettifer and Tuck thrown up as trade bait.

So we have 5 senior spots at end of season.

built like a toothpick? do you watch the game through a carnival mirror or something? he's one of only a few of our players who ever looks bigger than his opponent!

Good chance tivendale and hyde will be shown the door..

and theres a chance the likes of howat, moore, schulz, graham, jon, meyer, white, silvester and cartlidge could all be gone at years end ...

There is no use keeping average players on our list if were looking to improve, we aren't going to get any better with 23 year olds like silvester just filling up space on our list.

If he cant get a game this year then get rid of him hes just wasting space and if he can manage to get a game he would want to show alot because richmond are never going to improve if we keep average mid 20 year old backmen on our list just to fill space.

Imo we should have another fair sized cleanout this year adleast getting rid of 6-7 players.

Are you for real? You obviously don't pay close attention. Moore would easily be the biggest in terms of upper body strength at the club. Lids is up there with him too. I don't know who lifts the most weight though.

Simmonds benchs the most weight down at the club ...

Newman smashes down big weights aswell easily benches the most weight out of the boys apart from the taller players like richo, simmonds, pattison ect.

Are you crazy. Richo will never be given the tap on the shoulder and why would Simmonds be shown the door. He is our only quality ruckman and still has a number of good years left in him.

Some of the overreactions on here are amazing. Richmond has got a good quality core group of about 1518 players but we are let down by the other 4 who are in the team every week. These are the ones we need to stop persisisting with.

pettifer - as a trade for top 30 pick
tivendale - trade or delist
hyde - trade or delist
jackson - as a trade for top 35 pick
tuck - as trade for top 25 pick
raines - as trade for top 30 pick
jon - what ever you can get
schulz - as trade for top 25 pick

some pick may sound a bit high, but if we traded pick 19 for mcmahon and took the bait, surely we can d the same.

A bit high??? Tuck, Raines, Jackson, Schulz could only attract a late 3rd rounder at best (arounf pick 45-50), if anything at all. Schulz would have gone last year but Port wouldnt offer anything decent.

Define good quality. Our top 18 players would have us clearly in the bottom 3, to blame the bottom 4 is ridiculous. It is basically the same core group of players that has gotten us no where for a long time.

Pettifer would score top 30 pick
Tivendale - Delist no-one would take
Hyde - ' '
Jackson - Pick 50ish so no point unless you trade for a player.
Tuck - Would be lucky anything under 30
Raines - Has value believe me possible top 20
JON - Not to be touched let him develop
Schulz - CHB or FF dont bother moving him

i think port offered mid 20's last yr. correct me if im wrong.

My current list of delistees:
Hyde
Tivendale

May go on their own:
Richo (50-50 at present)
Johnson (30% chance)

Needs to do something:
Meyer

I just think in today's faster game you have to have 22 good players for rotations etc - we just don't have this and haven't had it anytime I can remember.

Slightly too few wouldnt you say, we will have a pick from 1-6 this year then 17-22 and 33-38 which are all worth taking. Then you have PSD ect. i think you need to do more than 3. Richo wont retire at the end of the year i cannot see it happening. Kane may just give up the captaincy not hang up the boots.

Try reading the first line of my post again, it says 'My CURRENT list of delistees, i.e. these are the players I think are in the gun at the moment. Others will join them as the season progresses but unlike some I'm not willing to write off kids so soon.

BTW there is every chance Richo will walk at the end of the year, comes out of contract and has stated that if he feels the time is right to call it quits he will. You don't start talking about possible retirement at the start of a season if you plan on going on no matter what.
