I think he's worth 750 - 900K a season. He has developed a more rounded game in the last two seasons. If he continues to improve in that regard, coming into his prime I see no reason why $900K a season isnt warranted. Very durable player as well.

The best thing about Gaff is you know he’s going to run his opponent into the ground. Even if he’s struggling in other aspects of his game (which is rare) he’s always going to help overrun the opposition.

Obviously not playing to his deal but you can see why it was signed given that everyone in this thread has him at 800+ or a top five pick on trade.

Sometimes you have to just pay your guys. He’s absolutely proven to not be worth it, but on the back of a flag and trying to load up to go again, 26/27 year old multi time AA winger who never misses games? Had to pay the man.

Don’t think anybody will want him at a rate that would be anywhere near to recouping any value, but I think moving him on if possible would be the best option if only to signify a changing of the guard. Gaff more than most embody the problems that have eaten the Eagles now - was great in 2018, game plan specific output that has now dried up in a massive way, and doesn’t play with any real dare.

If we could get a second rounder for him I’d do it but I don’t think we could given clubs will know how much he’s on, how badly we want to rebuild and to be honest given he has to sign off on it. Maybe if a contender could dangle a flag in front of him?
