Zero drinks for 2019 so far, I had my last drink boxing day 2018 and decided to take 2019 off from drinking.

No reason for it, just decided why not!

Not often. Out of the options noted, I am probably closest to socially. In the summer I might have a drink on a hot day after work.

I don't find having a drink makes me feel better after a shit day. More content to just play Playstation or something and make me forgot about whatever bullshit may be going on outside of that game.

Mrs Cruyff likes a wine or two a few nights a week after work.

Similar story. Decided in last week of 2018 but drank up until the new year (had to pour the final beer down the sink to get outside in time for fireworks).

Once the "I could have a drink" option passed from my mind after 4-8 weeks, it's been relatively easy. And if excessive work stress and ****ing Scott Morrison getting elected didn't crack me, the rest of the year should be straight forward. Almost halfway already. Sober on grand final day and November wedding (not mine lol) will be interesting.

Definitely will drink again in the future but might do things differently. Try spirits and wine instead of going straight back to beer. And try doing it at 9am-11am on weekends. Not joking. Staying up later to keep drinking is a big part of what wrecks you and makes you wake up tired the next day I think.

Yeah some of the times I've been the drunkest in my life have been day drinking and finishing up at a normal hour and I have felt relatively fine the next day.

Only socially, which typically would be once a week (and being younger it tends to be quite a bit). I've never felt the need to have a drink by myself at home.

I used to be a really big drinker but I've managed to cut it down to socially only lately. I have a deal with myself where if I abstain from drinking at home I have licence to drink at the slightest excuse of a social gathering.

I'm able to moderate much more when I only drink with other people - I'll drink til the event is over and then that's that. Whereas if I sit down and drink by myself at home I'll think nothing of knocking off 12+ beers and then having a crap, unproductive day the next day.

My one exception to being allowed to drink alone is if I buy a 6 pack to take to a social event and don't finish them I'll knock the remainders off once I get home. I avoid buying cartons these days because I have no willpower to abstain if I have beers sitting around at home. As soon as the footy or something comes on I think 'this would be more fun with a few beers' then next thing I know I've drunk half a carton.

I'm the opposite. I don't have to stop myself drinking at home at all. I have a stubby shelf and a can shelf in the fridge (not always both full) and it's currently Thursday and I've had nothing so far this week from either. Sunday I did a bunch of work in the yard dodging the intermittent rain and had a beer after that. A big week of home drinking might be 4 or 5 beers over the course of 3 or 4 nights. I doubt I've ever had more than 4 beers in a sitting at home by myself, just doesn't seem to enter my mind.

If I go to the pub with friends and a pint after work turns into 2 or 3 before dinner... well then I am prone to getting excited and jumping on board the escalation express running non stop to hangover central.

If I had the space I'd own a nice liquor cabinet, filled with assorted whiskeys, liqueurs, rum etc. Unfortunately I don't have the will power to leave them alone if I did own such a thing.

Me and my brother tried that back in the day. Buy a bottle each a week and get a nice Bar going. 3 weeks in an what we had collected was drunk on a big bender. Fai to say we realised it was a futile idea. Could easily do it now im older but don't do much spirits these days

Just came back from a month in Japan it was 2 beers for lunch and a few more for dinner and then maybe a nice bottle of Bordeux from the local Lawsons .($13 FTW)
