How to make Collingwood's list better with 3 players...

My first post better make it good i suppose. Hello everyone.
1. Nick Stevens.
2. T.Croad.
3. C.Mckernan.

Nick Stevens wants to play for us so we should try to secure him but we have more pressing requirements.

People may disagree with me but I rate Croad highly as a CHB. We need to get someone of his ilk.

Despite Malthouse and Balme comments that we dont and wont get a ruckman all I can say is what happens if Josh goes down.
McKernan would be my choice for many reasons.

In terms of how we get the above my gut feeling is we will lose Obree and pick 17 for Stevens. The other two Collingwood as usual has shown no interest in.

Ben Holland, Koops, Gilbee, etc are all interesting but the above 3 would be my targets.

What do you think and who would be your 3?

my 3 would be Stevens, Dean Cox and Koops

Stevens is a must, with brown not wanting success anymore and going to the tigers we need to get stevens (or a longshot soloman)

McKernan aint no spring chicken anymore, fair enough we only need a short term replacement ruck but if we can get someone just as usefull but will be around for many more years i cant see why we'd take the old guy

Koops, always been a big fan of his, hes a consistant abo that has a defensive side, not many of them around they are all hot and cold to much, think we should snap him up as he could turn into something big

Guy Richards is ready to step up. He has finally caught up after missing a year with illness so we dont need a ruckman.

Stevens and Croad would be ideal but I dont think we will get anyone as we are not well liked at trade time

I think we could use Solomon more than Stevens, but would take either.

We have to face the fact that we are going to have to give something up. O'bree? Lonie? If we got rid of Roop AND Scotland I'd be devistated!

Clement, Johnson, Lokan, Lonie, Shaw, Cole etc etc...

Lonie is struggling i think we should try and mould him into a key possie player, he's got the height to play on key possie players, get him to build his strength, teach him some bodywork and he'd be a good 3rd tall as he could still play on smalls aswell because of his pace

We've also got davidson coming thru who's a big boy, mainly a forward but can go back aswell if we get a decent ruckman and use josh as the 3rd tall in the forward line

Trent Croad? you guys are joking right, the guy is no gud, certainly not worth whatever he is getting paid at the momen.

Gardiner would make us awsome, or any other ruckaman that wins tap outs and or an awsome fullforward that can actually kick straight.

Anyway for me its Gilbee, Croad and Stevens.
IMO Gilbee will be useful, and I dont mind Croad as long as he is not getting paid too much. We also dont need a ruckman with Richards coming through next year

Why would u? i dont have a problem with them i like them infact if u have a problem with it your more the problem then any statements made

most of them are like davis or farmer, flashy but not always in the game all im saying is i'd take him as he has the aboriginal quality's but is consistant.

I think the 3 would be:

1. Nathan Thompson. We need a player with a big body who can play up forward and can play in the ruck.

2. Stevens is a good player but he may not be exaclty what we need. We do need a midfielder but more in the Jason Johnson mould.

3. The other player would be a tall backman who can go forward ie Croad but they are hard to come by.

agree. Thompson would be an untouchable for the Hawks.

1. Stevens - we need a long term replacement for Buckley. Fits the bill perfectly !!

2. Cox/McDonald etc - despite Guy Richards coming through, he's unproven and we need a player to step in straight away.

3. Find a player similar to the ilk of Melbourne's Cameron Bruce who is equally adept as forward, defender & midfielder. Classy that bloke. good size at 6' 1'.

My uncle was runner for many years for the Yarrawonga Pigeons. He's seen the likes of J.Smith, B.Dixon & Ednie.
He said he'd be a good player, but, with greater work ethic good be anything. I saw improve over the year so I expect him to play 3-6 games next year.
